Re: 19 May Mail on Sunday: 'MADDIE: UK CLEANERS ARE SUSPECTS' + WHO SOOTHED A WEEPING MADDIE the Express
We have had a version of this story already from Donal McIntyre, "investigative journalist". He maintained there were two people involved, had a key to the apartment, carried out a dry run the night before and cleaned the apartment on their second visit. The white van appeared in the news quite recently too.
It is like a combination of the less known stories over the years mixed into one new sensational, ass covering pink tabloid nothing story. For now, I exclude the Express in this who seem to be quietly bubbling in the background with some subtle articles of late.

Daily Mail comments are really hotting up and are not being checked in advance. Comments include mention of deleted phone calls, no evidence of abduction, suggestions that Tapas 9 be investigated and so on. Most damning comments I've yet seen on a paper!!

A reminder of Donal MacIntyre's views. Try not to choke with laughter on your breakfast, people!

Well I will tell you if I heard a child in distress my first action would be ring the police/ambulance or go to report it to reception and get them to call police. I would not have entered a flat with children in it without parents permission. If the child was hurt accusation could easily be made against strangers who enter a flat without notifying someone in authority.

Damn, they have started "checking comments" - must have had some complaints about the facts already!
ETA, they have now removed comments referring to the PJ files facts.

Re: 19 May Mail on Sunday: 'MADDIE: UK CLEANERS ARE SUSPECTS' + WHO SOOTHED A WEEPING MADDIE the Express
From Express story, WEEPING for an hour. So looks like the parents were not at tapas for dinner, IF this was a couple outside the group [ Mc Canns would have heard, or couple would have looked for them and alerted them surely ?] or ate at tapas bar then left for a nightcap, did NOT have this at the bar as claimed.
whatever, it is there in black and white from a person other than Mrs Fenn [ maybe date confused and it was 1st?, same night as Mrs Fenn heard sobbing].
There was weeping for an hour, from someone.
No mention of calling out for Daddy in this one.
A lie implicit from the parents about something
Person/ persons unknown to the source must have reassured the source they were going to console the weeping person.
Maybe a tapas pair going to comfort a weeping adult?
and if express is genuine, there is a leak, from whom and why?
what is the wider agenda?

I don't believe a child's crying would normally be described as weeping.
A child will start crying then when nobody comes it becomes sobbing imo.

just think it is the journalist after an eyecatching headline, but it certainly captures the image of someone being a lot more upset than being just a bit tearful.
verging on inconsolable is the image I get.
also somewhere, in the files maybe, I have read this tale of the timelines being not as stated, a couple on their balcony witnessing something, will go and check
anyone else recall this ?

Good tactic for letting the public know that despite supposed frequent checking, the children were in enough distress ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION to alert people OUTSIDE of the apartment. This latest "revelation" absolutely destroys any notion that this was "within the bounds of responsible parenting", casts doubt over ALL the Tapas statements, and will impact all the sheeple who think that the McCanns made a genuine mistake. This could prove to be the most significant article for years…..

You could describe as weeping if (theory purpporting) this was the night where Maddie fell off the back of the sofa cracking her head open on the floor and was heading towards her final breathes.
Also at that point in time the Mccanns could have been thought of as middle age.
They were already medical specialists, that takes many a year.
Whether it is the first or second is also a matter of interpretation.
Say M died on the first, who's to say the later crying or sobbing wasn't kate as shes a bit of a sniffler when she does break down.

Yes Loopz so that would mean that the couple who went to soothe were not strangers?

Re: 19 May Mail on Sunday: 'MADDIE: UK CLEANERS ARE SUSPECTS' + WHO SOOTHED A WEEPING MADDIE the Express
So the crux of what we have this morning is:
1) Child(ren) crying for an hour or more and possibly a couple entering the apartment 2 nights on the trot
RESULT - Destroys the idea of the regular checking that the T9 all gave in their statements.
2) A woman in an apartment overlooking the McCann's apartment walking past at 9:00pm and seeing nothing unusual and being on her balcony at 9:15 and not seeing Tanner or any abductor.
RESULT - Destroys the Tanner statement which is the cornerstone of the abduction theory espoused by the parents.

What is certain is that since the start of the investigation there were incongruent and even contradictory situations concerning the witness statements; the telephone records of calls that were made and received on mobile phones that belonged to the couple and to the group of friends that were on holidays with them; the movements of people right after the disappearance of the little girl was noticed, concerning the state in which the bedroom from where the child disappeared from was found (closed window? open window? partially open window?) etc., and the mystery would only become even thicker due to the clues that were left by the already mentioned sniffer dogs. - The Words of a JUDGE in relation to the McCanns

middle aged couple....
and I wonder who 'was crying' there . Madeleine? Sean and Madeleine? Just the twins? Is that what the police want people to know they want to check?

Mrs Fern reported crying incident was on the 1st May, and not the 2nd.
If the couple seen going into the apt turned out to be Mr & Mrs, I suppose in the dark depending from what distance witnesses had seen them, 40ish couple could be mistaken as 50ish, then maybe that's night Maddie met her fate.
IMO CW's info from source is well worth a revisit ie death occured between midnight 2nd and early am 3rd; that daylight 3rd was used to get rid of body and evidence when Mr & Mrs deviated had family day.... then staging.
Just a thought......

SY certainly seem to be gearing up to the point where the McCanns are hauled in for in-depth questioning, and as they have demanded this review in the first place and said how "pleased" and "encouraged" they are, they will only be too willing to co-operate this time round. I wouldn't rule out Op Grange demanding a reconstruction with the whole lot of them either. At this stage in the game, I can't see that this WON'T be happening and rather promptly too.

There was the Carpenters, two uk men who had gone to collect take away food to bring to their wives back at the apartments and two waiters or bar men who had finished work. I can't remember the details of their statements, but I remember they were there that night and possibly around 9 pm.
Don't know if they are middle aged. If I were to describe any of the group as middle aged from their photos at that time, David Payne jumps out at me. Perhaps he looked younger in real life, but the others all had the yummy mummy look going on in 2007. Payne just never goes away, no matter what aspect is under discussion.

IIRC Wasn't Rachel Oldfield in the apartment next door on May 2nd sick and according to Clarence Mitchell she heard nothing at all?
