Why does Gerry smirk so much and so often.

Post by PeterMac on 10.04.13 8:57

We saw laughter outside the church on day 8, Madeleine's birthday.
We saw laughter and clowning around in the apartment within the first two weeks
We have seen the barely concealed laughter, which turned into a smirk, when they were asked about sightings.
And I have just been sent this.

He can hardly contain himself.

IMO it's a grossly exaggerated sense of self importance and arrogance, i.e. "normal" does not apply to him. We have never heard or seen anything remotely humble or remorseful from this pair. I'm certain it is this couples "unlike - ability" that has let this case rumble on in the public interest for so many years.

Or is it that he knows 'He knows' that it is a charade, and that he has got way with it.
So far !

That would be my bet, having watched too many videos featuring him [and her].

I agree.
Probably he could not believe his good luck either. At that time, public opinion was on their side, the media had been suckered in, no witnesses outside their little group had muddied the waters by seeing and reporting anything incriminating, and the money had rolled in so that they could legally fight any difficult situations that might arise in the future. As long as no corpse emerged, then the way ahead was looking good. All of that would be crossing his mind....and he can't resist a little smile of satisfaction.Job done.

I should think there are very many people who would have a smile/smirk on their face if they had received millions of pounds from the general public, especially if they knew they could make a couple mortgage repayments out of it.

I often wonder if they still have a mortgage on the house.

I know someone who checked with Land Registry in January this year and Rothley Towers was still subject to a mortgage then.

He's dead chuffed he got rid of the problematic child, made millions as a result of that, so he believe he has every reason to laugh and be smirk about it, WHY NOT! He's got away with a perfect crime.

He's getting fame and money even though for the wrong reason, so what, he's got away with it scot free.

For a couple who can throw themselves onto bed or floor or whatever and do the Arab thing, they are pretty damn good at acting, and will continue to enjoy dramatising things to their advantage for as long as the tentacles of law cannot touch him.

@NFWTD Thanks for that. Makes sense that it has not been paid off really because there is only one income going into the house-hold now.

But there are also very good reasons for not paying off a mortgage in its entirety. There is "free' insurance included in most if not all policies, so you should always leave a small amount outstanding.
