Justice after 63 years: child rapist aged 78 jailed over oldest offences ever heard in a British court
A pensioner who sexually assaulted four young girls between 1949 and 1973 was jailed for 11 years today over the oldest offences ever heard in a British court.

Reginald Davies committed the offences when he was aged between 15 and 39
Former serviceman Reginald Davies, 78, was convicted of 13 offences, including rape of a girl under the age of 12.
His four victims, the oldest of whom is now 71, held hands and sobbed as the sentence was read out at Kingston Crown Court in south west London.
He abused his victims in South Wales when they were between nine and 16 years old.
The Metropolitan Police have described the case as "the oldest charges ever to be heard in a UK court".
5 years is nothing. Sleep well.

63 years wow! No doubt he thought he'd got away with it!

Just goes to show, you never know when justice will catch up with you!

You can be sure that since the Criminals Protection Society came into being back in 1986 that you had more chance of evading justice than before their existence.

GOOD.

Retribution!

"No Stone Unturned"

How strange those words are - I always think they were a TM invention but they are not.

No stone unturned is a term police use if I am not wrong, and Gerry lifted it from the Police manual (I think)!

Yes they did, but how come they were familiar with the police manual at such a very early date? The forensic manual that Gerry had in the villa was lent to him in June - that's where the idea that cadaver odour only lasts a month and can be confused with the cadaverine odour of sea bass came from.

But 'no stone unturned'? Would be interesting to see where the earliest use by TM occurs.
