Man believes he saw the missing girl on a flight to Germany
Was Maddie in Ibiza?
A German holiday maker has claimed he saw Madeleine McCann aboard a flight from Ibiza to Munich.
Frank Bode, 42, was returning home to Germany earlier this month following a five day break in Spain when he caught sight of a girl that immediately reminded him of the missing toddler.
“My intuition told me that the girl, who was around seven to 10 years old, could be Madeleine, “ Bode told the Olive Press.
“She didn’t seem to fit in with her family. Her father was clearly German as were her two brothers, both around 10 to 12 years ole, but her mother appeared to be British.
“They were all speaking German except for the girl who I clearly heard speaking British English.”
He continued, “The two boys were touching her strangely and the girl seemed totally out of place - nervous, stuttering, just not normal. And her mother, who bore no resemblance to the girl, was a strange woman and didn't talk the entire trip.
: I was never very interested in the case, but by instinct told me something was up, and I;m almost never wrong about these kings of things, “ added Bode, a sales manager for a currency printing company.
“I took a photo and showed it to some of my friend who agreed it could definitely be Maddie.”
Bode was do convinced the girl on his Lufthansa flight was Maddie, who disappeared from Portugal in 2007, he immediately contacted the British Police.
“The woman at the hotline said it is on file, but that’s all she said. ”I’m mainly interested in the family getting the photo, but it’s difficult to find a channel through which to contact them.”
When the Olive Press contacted British Police about Bode’s report, they said: ”At this time we cannot find any record of his information.”

Man believes he saw the missing girl on a flight to Germany HE IS WRONG
Was Maddie in Ibiza? NO
A German holiday maker has claimed he saw Madeleine McCann aboard a flight from Ibiza to Munich. Ah, so it's only a claim, now.
Frank Bode, 42, was returning home to Germany earlier this month following a five day break in Spain when he caught sight of a girl that immediately reminded him of the missing toddler. All blonde girls remind people of Madeleine. That is the success of the campaign
“My intuition told me that the girl, who was around seven to 10 years old, could be Madeleine, “ Bode told the Olive Press. INTUITION TOLD ME, COULD BE. Quite.

“She didn’t seem to fit in with her family. Her father was clearly German as were her two brothers, both around 10 to 12 years old, but her mother appeared to be British. Her FATHER ? Was this Gerry McCann ? Her brothers ? her mother ? or should that be rephrased.

“They were all speaking German except for the girl who I clearly heard speaking British English.” TO WHOM ? If the rest of the family were speaking German, to whom was the girl speaking ?

He continued, “The two boys were touching her strangely (Toughing her WHAT ?) and the girl seemed totally out of place - nervous, stuttering, just not normal. And her mother, who bore no resemblance to the girl, was a strange woman and didn't talk the entire trip. So she is speaking British English, stuttering and nervous, and not speaking to her mother (Kate McCann) whilst the two boys are touching her ‘strangely’

I was never very interested in the case, but my instinct told me something was up, and I’m almost never wrong about these kings of things, “ Well yo certainly are this time, old fruit. added Bode, a sales manager for a currency printing company. Sales manager for currency printing company. Is this real ? Want some money printed cheap ? For you, special rates, already.”

“I took a photo and showed it to some of my friend who agreed it could definitely be Maddie.” COULD - DEFINITELY ?

Bode was so convinced the girl on his Lufthansa flight was Maddie, who disappeared from Portugal in 2007, he immediately contacted the British Police. Who are the British Police ? There are 43 separate forces. Which one did he choose.
“The woman at the hotline said it is on file, but that’s all she said. Ah, the Hotline.

”I’m mainly interested in the family getting the photo, but it’s difficult to find a channel through which to contact them.” Does he mean the McCanns ? And he finds it difficult to get through ? Try sending some money with the photo and see how quickly they get it.

When the Olive Press contacted British Police about Bode’s report, they said: ”At this time we cannot find any record of his information.” Who said it. Who did you contact.

Love it. For some reason it is not in the on-line edition with comments - yet. The last lot of comments has gone on for weeks, about Maddie and the cigarette DNA

Isn't the hotline manned by mccanns PI?
So he claimed he called the British Police (didn't state which) and a woman said it is on file - ON FILE ALREADY?? before his call? Meaning someone called in already before him?

Olive Press also contacted British Police (another ambiguous statement) - so OP didn't even have the common sense to ask Bode which Police force it was he reported to.

Surely Bode heard about the Review and Andy Redwood. If he were to give the photo to AR, it would reach his target, the mccanns.

The pertinent question is: why they keep making up cracker after cracker, who is paying them to fabricate these porky pies.

They should try the Leicestershire police website which still links directly to the McCanns website and fraudulent fund.

Or as Clarence Mitchell once said "just put it in an envelope and mark it Kate and Gerry in Rothley, it'll get there".

.......added Bode, a sales manager for a currency printing company. ???

What a strange profession, why is there a salesman for printing currency? Surely this is a government issue. Does he go round the world showing off the wonderful currency his company can print?
Does the Royal Mint have a salesperson?

OP never fails to amuse. How can the mcCanns be difficult to contact and how difficult is it to send a photograph by email to their facebook page?
Poor innocent man, I would love to contact him to ask for a few samples.

A currency sales person?? OP is a complete joke.
Straight away that's complete bullocks because currencies are printed in accordance to demand under total governments controlled and in most countries it is governed by Central Banks, Treasuries or Ministry of Finance; and international organizations (lenders) like IMF and World Bank.

Or maybe hell notes, the kind offered to Hungry Spirits during the 7th lunar month according to Chinese customs.

Wish I know how to post up images of "Hell Notes" - damn,

Wont surprise me one bit if OP's next sighter should turn out to be a "coffin maker".

De La Rue is a British company that prints currencies for foreign countries. No doubt there are many other companies worldwide doing the same and therefore it is certainly not an impossible story. That doesn't mean, of course, that the girl was Madeleine. If SY could let it be known that they are no longer looking for an abductor, these stupid stories would quickly stop.

What we have to remember with OP it is a free English language newspaper and free in hotels and supermarkets on the Costas where the expats shop and the English holiday, so read by thousands every week, as to buy an English language newspaper, Sun, Mail etc is very expensive.
What I would like to know if there are similar free papers in South of France, Italy, Portugal where expats tend to go to live and the English have their two weeks in the sun. And if so are they linked at all.

Man believes he saw the missing girl on a flight to Germany - So her passport could be very easily verified and her identity checked out. Good

Like thousands of other little blonde girls

“My intuition told me that the girl, who was around seven to 10 years old, could be Madeleine, “ Bode told the Olive Press. Why the Olive Press? Why not passport control? Why not security?

“She didn’t seem to fit in with her family. Her father was clearly German as were her two brothers, both around 10 to 12 years ole, but her mother appeared to be British. Only German men can have 2 sons? Nothing really unusual about German father & British mother.

“They were all speaking German except for the girl who I clearly heard speaking British English.” Brought up in Germany with a German family, from the age of 4 and still speaks only English? Highly unlikely

He continued, “The two boys were touching her strangely (I would put this down to a very bad translation, otherwise it is a horrid comment to make in a newspaper) and the girl seemed totally out of place - nervous, stuttering, just not normal. After 5 year of being brought up with this family she is still still nervous, out of place?

And her mother, who bore no resemblance to the girl, was a strange woman and didn't talk the entire trip. Was it her mother? Could have been anyone, Aunt, Nanny. Does Bode usually earwig family conversations?

: I was never very interested in the case, but by instinct told me something was up, and I;m almost never wrong (big head) about these kings of things, “ added Bode, a sales manager for a currency printing company. A currency printing "Company"?
“I took a photo and showed it to some of my friend who agreed it could definitely be Maddie.” Oh dear, did the parents allow you to take that photo? A man from Peacocks almost got arrested for taking photographs of children on the beach, how did you get away with it?

Bode was do convinced the girl on his Lufthansa flight was Maddie, who disappeared from Portugal in 2007, he immediately contacted the British Police. Really? What Police? The Supercop of the Halkyn Mountains? Why didn't he give them a copy of the photograph?

“The woman at the hotline said it is on file, but that’s all she said. What woman? What file?

”I’m mainly interested in the family getting the photo, but it’s difficult to find a channel through which to contact them.” Ah yes, now we agree.

McCann website contact button was not working

No one bothered to reply to any of the calls on the hotline set up by Kevin Halligen

The McCanns detectives, Alphaig Limited, was working on very limited resources and had no website, no e-mail addresses, no telephone nos. In fact, if you had seen Madeleine or had any information, there was absolutely no way of contacting the private investigators.

Operations were carried out in a house in Knutsford but all that we know about this property is that it belonged to Brian Kennedy

When the Olive Press contacted British Police about Bode’s report, they said: ”At this time we cannot find any record of his information.”

Surprise surprise

http://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2012/05/08/did-german-couple-snatch-maddie-mccann[/quote[/url" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">]

A BRITISH woman is convinced she saw missing Madeleine McCann with a German or Dutch couple just days after she was snatched.

Mother-of-two Karen Sisson, 49, was so convinced she had seen the three-year-old on a Spanish campsite that she contacted police in three different countries to investigate.

According to Sisson, the mysterious girl did not speak and seemed ‘out of it and extremely removed from her family.’

She added that she looked confused and didn’t seem to socialise properly with the couple.

But despite filing a report with both British and Spanish police at the time, giving descriptions and a car numberplate, Sisson, who lives in Gibraltar, is certain the sighting was never investigated.

Intriguingly The Olive Press has now managed to locate details of a German family – under the name ‘Karsten Meyer’ – who did indeed check into the Cabopino campsite, near Fuengirola, three days after Maddie disappeared.

An easy drive from where Maddie went missing in Praia de Luz, in neighbouring Portugal, it would certainly have been a good place to lie low for a week, with few tourists at that time of year.

Even more intriguingly, records from the campsite show that the couple actually paid a supplement on arrival on May 6 for an ‘extra child’ having originally booked themselves in as one family.

They had a blue Mercedes Vita van and were towing a caravan.

A numberplate recorded by the campsite, which began ‘BE’ with five letters has not been used in Germany since 1974, although the first Vita van’s were only manufactured in 1996.

While photographic records of the car they were driving have now been deleted, a receptionist agreed the entire booking seemed ‘a little odd’.

“I don’t know why they wouldn’t have booked everyone in together in the first place,” said an employee, who was working at the campsite at the time.

“But this is the first we have heard about any possible Maddie sighting here and police have certainly never been in touch.”

It is this discrepancy that has so irritated Sisson, who this week once again contacted UK police investigating the case.

“There was something strange about it all,” explained the Durham-born artist, who explained that the couple were of slim build and looked to be in their late thirties.

“It was like the girl was alienated and completely different to her family. It really was most peculiar,” said Sisson.

“She was sat on her own, not playing but just standing swaying as if in a dream. She looked really out of it.”

She continued: “It was also strange that they also had two toddlers, with curly blond hair, eerily like Sean and Amelie.

“And there were children’s toys, a bike and rollerblades around the caravan for a girl her age, so I had the impression maybe they had lost a girl and seen Maddie and wanted to replace her,” she added.

“I deliberately went to look at the girl again the next day and she was wearing the same clothes as the day before even though it was 27 degrees heat.

“A mother would know that this was a strange thing as children of that age go through so many clothes and love to strip off in the heat.

“I have a little girl myself who is just a year older than Maddie; it makes me think about it even more.”

She continued: “At one point the girl started to move towards the pool to play with other children and the lady came and got her and lead her back by the hand.

“She obviously did not want her playing with the other kids.”

[url=http://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2012/05/08/did-german-couple-snatch-maddie-mccann/cabopino-campsite-near-marbella/]

Sisson had been on holiday with her husband Richard, a buyer for an electrical business in Gibraltar, when she first set eyes on the girl.

So convinced was she that it could be Maddie she actually made a two hour round trip a week later to check the family out again.

“I literally could not sleep, it haunted me and I decided to drive back to have a second look,” she said.

“It definitely looked like her, and again I contacted Crimestoppers and even my local Gibraltarian police, but nothing seems to have been done.”

The campsite confirmed that a Karsten Mayer had stayed there from May 6 to May 18, 2007.

As well as confirming the car number plate and a date of birth from 1970, they were also able to furnish a passport or ID number.

The Olive Press is now trying to track down the couple and the information has been passed on to police and the family.

A spokesman for the McCann’s said: “This lady has done exactly the right thing in reporting what she saw to police.”

The information has been passed on to Scotland Yard’s Operation Grange, now probing the crime.

The new sighting comes just days after a woman claimed she saw Maddie McCann on a beach near Nerja.

Rose Johnson, 70, told The Olive Press, that she saw the girl two summers ago with a family very different to her.

Hers is not the first sighting in the Nerja area, and just two weeks ago Portuguese police contacted their Spanish counterparts to investigate some leads in the area.

“The whole incident was just so haunting it really stuck in my mind,” concluded Sisson.

“It would have been so easy for them to get to the campsite from Portugal. I am sure they could go under the radar.

“She could easily be on the Costa del Sol and they didn’t look like your average holidaymakers, but much more like expats who might be moving around.

“People have asked me why didn’t I just get hold of her, but you just don’t feel like you can.

“You also don’t like the idea of being caught taking photos.

“You want the police to do their job and not you having to do it for them.

“I really think she’s still out there, and I hope they take these new leads seriously and not just put them in a pile.”

Did you stay at that campsite in 2007? Can you help locate Karsten Meyer? Please contact jon@theolivepress.es or wendy@theolivepress.es

It seems to be exactly the same story as the Swiss person investigated. The supposedly fishy numberplates were registered in Bern and were in order. I don't recall an apology from the McCanns for the distress this caused to the man and his family.

How many families with little blond haired girls have been hounded?

Sisson’s sighting has been ruled out. The German family have been identified. They live in Switzerland, the girl is their daughter. See here for related article.

Poor bloke. There are only 4 Karsten Meyers in Switzerland and only one in the Bern area, so it was not difficult to find him.
Yet another family wrongly accused of a dreadful crime in the basis of what someone thought they might have seen, and reported four years later to the Sun - who then gave it to the OP to write up so that the Sun can then claim it later without showing how it developed.
