It's the consolation prize for not getting the IMF.

'"Enrolling an additional 61 million children and ensuring a quality education for all by the end of 2015 will not be easy - but it is a goal which, working together, we can achieve," says Mr Brown. unquote.

Brown for world education, Blair as peace envoy, Kate as ambassador for missing children, Dr. Shipman for help the aged ......

I cannot think of a more suitable person. The man who, together with his political accomplices, helped to totally ruin the British educational system and ensure that generations of British school children would leave school at the age of 16 unable to read or write properly, can now wreak havoc in the rest of the world and attempt to bring everyone else down to the same level. Stands to reason 'innit?

Not only has he learned to ruin a system which worked much better in getting underprivileged children on the road to higher education, he has clearly learned to do it bigger and faster if 61 million children can achieve the same level of incompetence in just 3 years from now. Labour is the party that is holding down the 'working classes'. Imo because you cannot have a democracy without an educated population.
