Madeleine McCann new DNA hope

Detectives plan to do new tests on curtains which hung in the apartment where Madeleine McCann disappeared.
They believe the fabric, which has been sealed in an evidence file since three-year-old Madeleine vanished in Portugal in 2007, may hold DNA which will identify to her abductor.
Scotland Yard sent an urgent request to their counterparts in Portugal asking permission to re-examine the fabric.
Forensic experts on the Operation Grange team want to use new techniques to analyse the curtains, which hung in the room where Madeleine was sleeping with her baby brother and sister.

In the bedroom photo in the article it says something like - the room from which Maddie was seemingly snatched.

So the abductor opened the curtains and yet somehow left no finger/hand prints anywhere else. If KM saw the curtains blow open by a gust of wind that means they were in closed position to be blown open? So how did KM finger print get on the bedroom window if she wasn't forced to touch the curtains? So I expect OG will find her DNA, amongst the hundreds of other people's DNA, that have touched those curtains?

So in this precise? and accurate? piece of Murdoch/Mirror reporting, we have reference to “curtains…in the room where Madeleine was sleeping” and “curtains…in the apartment where Madeleine disappeared.” They also refer to 'abducted' but hey, they can't get everything right can they.

So, very good so far, at least she has, in parts, “disappeared”.
But the curtains in the apartment (as opposed to the bedroom) could be those from the lounge, namely behind the sofa.
Were samples collected from the bedroom curtains?
I have not seen that but stand to be corrected.
If it is the ‘lounge’ curtains then yes, with blood spots on the walls right beside the curtains, and a smell of cadavour detected and indicated, then if these were the only samples collected and bagged up since 2007, they would be interesting for further DNA investigation.
Especially if there are signs of them having been washed (in detergent) etc. which did not correlate with the normal cleaning methods used in the cleaning facilities of OC.
With the Mirror covering all angles, like the man who jumped onto a horse and rode of in every direction, are we able to narrow the field down.

Can anyone clear it up if ‘bedroom curtain material was ever collected’ ?

This is exactly what I was thinking, we are seeing a lot of mention of the bedroom curtains being retested, however, as far as I can remember from the items collected it was the living room curtains that were sampled and of interest to the investigators.
Were the bedroom curtains collected for evidence as well?

Any curtains hanging in the apartment would have collected a ton of DNA over time from various inhabitants, visitors, cleaners, charity collectors, I doubt very much they would be washed often, would be like looking for an abductor needle in a haystack..

They are going to test the curtains to see if they could both "Whoosh" and then tuck themselves back down behind the bed and wicker chair.
Under various wind conditions, starting with a flat calm, through to Force 9
Under various shutter conditions, ranging from closed to "jammied"
Under various window conditions, ranging from closed to "wide open"
Under various veracity conditions, ranging from honest to "totally mendacious"

If they managed to find dna evidence from traces of MM's blood on the lounge curtains, then this would lend weight to Amaral's theory and the McCanns would have some explaining to do.

What evidence would they be likely to find on the bedroom curtains? None really.
