The date is interesting, being the 26th April, a Thursday. http://www.biotec-uk.com/BioTrinity-Newbury-Racecourse-05-2012.asp
Why not May 4th, the supposed anniversary? Perhaps a money making conference is the target.

Re: Paperback edition coming soon
Wasn't the hardback originally planned for publication on 26th April this year (or very close thereto) but was deferred because of not wanting to be overshadowed by the Royal Wedding?

We lucky Irish have had the paperback version since May, but I think it was seeling at much more than the price quoted for the UK version above even allowing for the stg difference. I think the full euro price varied from about €14.99 - €16.99 depending on the bookshop.

This is an interesting date and indeed why not on May 4th. The site says 'BioTrinity is the premier European Biopartnering and Investment Conference, where great minds and smart money meet under one roof.'...sound familiar?? Maybe April 26th 2007 is a significant day for them back in the UK

A paperback selling for more than the hardback version ?pauline wrote:We lucky Irish have had the paperback version since May, but I think it was selling at much more than the price quoted for the UK version above even allowing for the stg difference. Sorry to be rude but that really is Irish logic.
Re: Paperback edition coming soon
I take that back, since Amazon are advertising the paperback at £ 6.39, and there are hardbacks at £ 3.35
In this sorry story nothing makes any sense.

Petermac - the Irish price I quoted is correct.
The logic is that they felt they could get that price here given the McCanns 'Irish' connections - holidays in Donegal for example. It is all about MONEY.
The paperback version available here has close to 400 pages and colour pics - the price for the Madeleine book is what you would expect to pay for any book of this size with colour illustrations. Ireland is an expensive place.

Re: Paperback edition coming soon
Good news folks for the visually impaired because I heard kate's bewk is available in audio version, read by no other than the horse herself.
I am not kidding....seriously. Check it out for yourself at amazon. I heard it 2nd, 3rd or 4th hand...not sure which cause I don't patronise amazon at all, but it's true.
I wonder kate managed page 121 or is it 129 in what sort of a tone, about her mental or is it visual rape of her daughter?
Sorry folks if I spoil your day. kate is as revolting as cat's vomit.

Christmas presents sorted for all the people you can't stand
The thought of Kate with her whining poor me voice reading her own book -
I need to go and lie down in a darkened room quickly!

The reason I haven't been able to read Kate's book is because when I tried to I could hear her whiney Liverpudlian accent. No way could I get past the first paragraph.
Remember this: "You're right! You're right! There was only a small window of opportunity"
Can you read that without saying it in Kate's accent? I can't.

Seriously though, I am almost speechless (for once). Just as I think the McCanns could possibly sink any lower, down down down they go... This truly is sick. If EVER I had a micro-millimetre of doubt that the vile pair are in it up to their necks, I certainly wouldn't have a doubt any more! IMO, no mother who has truly had a child abducted, allegedly by a paedophile, could possibly write the bilge she did, and certainly no way would she be able to read it out loud! How could anyone?
Oh, and jd, by God, if there is ANY justice in this world, they will be. And the keys will be melted down

The audio version
I've looked at Amazon and we seem to have the wrong end of the stick. It's not Kate reading the novel herself but the actress Lesley Sharp.
Here's a link to a photo of her, she's been on TV quite a lot lately but sadly my opinion of her has just gone down the drain.

Re: Paperback edition coming soon
very curious to know what sort of fee an established actress could command for reading close to 400 pages.
Or perhaps she did it without a fee for such a good cause!
or a kind benefactor paid her fee?

Re: Paperback edition coming soon
Oh Lesley, Lesley, Lesley! I really thought better of you. I coudn't be tempted to read or do anything for the McCanns for any amount of money, never ever.
Are all these celebs delusional? Have they not done any looking into the realities of this case? I'm certain its not those of us who disbelieve the fairytale who are wrong. Why do so many just not see it? I don't get it!

Re: Paperback edition coming soon
Please correct me if I am wrong but as I remember it the paperback was advertised much earlier, alongside the hardback when the book first came out. The hardback was priced at £20 and the paperback something like £9 or £10. A few weeks later, the paperback disappeared and the price of the hardback dropped below the original price of the paperback.

If the bewk is ever bundled in a store and put on sale as '3 for a tenner' I think my choice for the other two books would take me into the fairytale section followed by the self help shelf.
