So she wrote to the Lord Advocates Office, and this was the reply she got. I wish I could say I was surprised, but I wasn't at all. When will this poor woman get the justice she deserves?

It really does stink! What gets my goat is that if a paedophile happens to be joe public and he/she gets found out, then they'll see some time of justice served against them, and rightly so. But if the paedophiles happen to have money, work for the judicary, be a police officer, a politician etc etc, then jack shit will happen to them! We have no idea of what really goes on, it's in their interests for us never to find out! And in my opinion, this case was never fully investigated, was it hell! Shame on the lot of them, I hope they get theirs sooner rather than later...they're sub-human!

Trouble is, delly, IMO paedophiles everywhere are getting of ridiculously lightly, regardless of social status.
It makes me sick that its almost guaranteed that a man in court for fraud or theft will almost certainly be given a far lighter sentence than a 'child-lover'. These child rapists and abusers are getting 6 years or so for a crime that will have life-long effects on the victims. They'll serve half that maybe, be put on a register (which does stuff all to prevent further offending). Its just not on. You just can't compare that sort of crime with a financial one!
I actually vomited up my lunch last week when I read about the one month old baby boy, raped, battered and left on a life support machine after having a heart attack. What kind of animal would even think of doing something so putrid? I can't even put into words my feelings over that. I do NOT, never have and NEVER will support death penalty, but in cases like this, LIFE IMPRISONMENT MUST be the ONLY sufficient sentence. No known child rapist should be walking our streets. Nine times out of ten they do not change, their urges remain and most will admit this.
Considering its the judges who hand down the sentences, and government who set policy on tariffs, it certainly seems that paedophilia is deeply entrenched and not looked upon very seriously by these people, is it? The sentences aren't enough. Which is worse - embezzling thousands of pounds or raping a baby? Money is replaceable. A child's innocence, and life, are not. Sad

Well done delly55 for having a try with your MP though. Its all any of us can do to try and make a difference, and that's part of the reason I for one will never give up on trying to get justice for MBM.

Rainbow-Fairy: this story originated in The Sun and, while I'm not denigrating the seriousness of what has happened, it does appear to be exaggerated. Here's a link to a Sky report which says that the police have not revealed details of the baby's injuries so goodness knows where The Sun got its information from.

Well Marian, I'd dearly love to think its exaggerated... I didn't read it in the Sun, can't remember where it was now...
Whether or not the police have released details, it could still be factually more or less correct - I would think in a case like this the source could be any one - family member, horrified health worker, goodness knows!
All I do know is that, if true, I'd like to tie up the perpertrator, cut his d**k off and put it in a blender. While he watched. Then cauterize the wound and brand his forehead! Obviously, I wouldn't go that far but it really was the sickest thing I think I've read in a long time, maybe ever

When will this ever end....my heart totally sank at this sad news! Robert Green has been jailed for 1 year! Shame on them all! Child rapers appear immune from justice! I'm so angry!

Sadly I am not surprised. It's hardly a unique case in that everyone is punished except the guilty.

I too am unsurprised at this news. What we should find sad is the fact that it was almost to be expected.
I'd lay odds a single mother struggling to feed her children and fiddling a few pence in benefit money would get a longer sentence than these monsters who wreck lives for ever. Its just not right.
