Zaival Beach

Post by Guest on 04.09.11 17:13

"I inform you that, upon going to the Zavial Beach concession of Ernesto Joaquim Muchacho , telephone contact numbers, ******** and ******; the same stated that he recognised the parents of Madeleine McCann as clients of his restaurant and that he remembers seeing them for the last time in his establishment in the month of April (Easter holidays), accompanied by their three children. Since this date, as he exercises his function in the kitchen, he does not remember having seen them on that beach or in his restaurant.

It is relevant to note that the Zaival Beach is normally frequented by nudists, and consequently attracts some peepers/lookers on.

These are facts I wanted to bring to your attention.

Lagos, 09th of May of 2007."

It's a long walk to Zaival Beach with 3 children & no buggy, I am surprised Kate didn't mention it in her truthful book.

Oops, I missed that bit, Marian, assumed it was May. This makes it even more interesting. McCann's and restaurant visits are becoming a bit like Elvis sightings (Chaplins, Millennium, Zavial).

there was another supposed sighting of the family in Sagres, further along the coast, on 30 April according to these articles in the link below.

This one is interesting because around this time, might have been the same day, there was the supposed weird behaviour of a couple taking photos of children in Sagres, which led to tracking the couple by their hire car to Burgau, which led to think it was Murat's uncle who owned a bar identifying them, which led to the apartment in Burgau in which they were staying, which led to hairs etc being taken from the apartment, which led to the DNA showing I believe links via the maternal line to Murat and Tanner.. bit of a full circle of coincidences there. Don't think any of it came to anything - don't want to resurrect something that might have already been discussed and discounted.

Not clear who the sources are for the sighting - could well be the case of linking to any sighting to reinforce abduction notion...

Though this was the day that the creche records for the day have her being signed in and out within 15 minutes in the afternoon..

Well spotted, Stewie, Candyfloss has a thread on http://jillhavern.forumotion.net/t1581-the-mccanns-family-trip-to-sagres-30th-april.

The daytrip wasn't mentioned in Kate's book.

Paraiso bar, Sagres, etc.

Post by tigger on 05.09.11 7:57

My goodness, what a lovely exciting fairy story! Creepy men everywhere they look.
So in at least the known 'holiday' we have:
Sagres, couple taking photographs of children, possible link to JT (Murat was in Devon flying back in the early hours of 1/5- but the car could of course have traces of him).
Paraiso Bar, the trip to the beach on the 1st? Gerry sees an unsavoury guitar player, first time I saw this was in the Bewk.
JT sees a man carrying child on 3/5
Smiths see a man carrying child on 3/5.
Throughout the week and with 20/20 hindsight, various members of the T9 have seen suspicious characters some watching 5a.

What on earth is the preferred reading of these people? O I forgot, a manual on police procedure. And Grimm's fairy tales of course.

So which story is correct?

"Kate and Gerry McCann happily talked about their first family holiday in Ireland at Easter where they spent five blissful days with Madeleine and her two-year-old twin sister and brother, Amelie and Sean.

"It was the first time we had been back to Donegal as a family and the first time Kate was there," Gerry said as the couple seemed lost for a moment in an idyllic place and time.

"It was a real big family get-together with all of my extended family and close friends. It was a fantastic holiday and the kids had a ball. There were 27 of us in all and we took three cottages in Dunloe. We spent the first two days on the beach. The weather was gorgeous and Madeleine and the kids just ran up and down the sand dunes," Gerry McCann said, adding that it reminded him of so many of his childhood summers there. "

"She said it could be too painful for the couple to revisit the area, where they had a great time in 2007 just weeks before little Maddy (4) was snatched from a holiday apartment in the Algarve last May.

In exclusive pictures published by the Belfast Telegraph in the weeks following her disappearance, Madeleine was seen with her cousins happily playing on the beach and enjoying an ice cream during the Easter break in Donegal.

On their annual trip to the county last year, Kate and Gerry took Madeleine and their twins Sean and Amelie to St Johnston to see the pub where Gerry's father John was born.

Madeleine's aunt, Philomena McCann, revealed last year that 46 family and friends enjoyed the holiday in Donegal where she was also born.

Questions:

1. Were there 27 or 46 family and friends in Donegal?

2. Was it a first time visit or an annual one?

3. How old does Maddie look in the photo with her cousins in the second article?

4. Could this photo have been taken in 2006 giving possible credence to the Zaival Beach sighting?

5. "The weather was gorgeous" How often is the weather gorgeous in northern Ireland early April? Could the photo have been taken in the summer of 2006?

Ireland

Post by tigger on 06.09.11 7:04

http://thelostmarketingploy.blogspot.com/2011/05/arnt-twins-year-older-in-donegal-april.html?zx=88bd3d62d036588b

The above link gives quite a few photos. I've been struggling with Maddie's age going up and down like a yo yo, but there is no relation between the lanky girl in Donegal and the toddler in PdL a month later. Maddie looks in fact too tall for a 3yr 10 month old.
The twins look older and taller than they did in PdL. How is all that possible?
How can the Donegal photo predate the pool photo in PdL?
How unlikely that with all their travelling, this was the first time Kate went to Ireland? Kate says in the bewk that the twins were used to travelling, having been in Guernsey, Spain and Ireland. With Portugal, that makes about four holidays in 18 months if they started at 6 months.

There is another photo where Maddie is sitting on her older cousins' lap, the same girl as in these photos.

Easter in Portugal

Post by Guest on 07.09.11 10:16

This may be a silly question (I'm famed for them) but the restaurant owner's statement says that the McCanns were seen in Portugal in the Easter holidays which has been taken to mean early April. I know that some countries celebrate Christmas in early January - there's no chance is there that Easter is celebrated in Portugal later than in the United Kingdom?

No.

in 2006 it was 16 Apr and in 2007, it was the 8 Apr.
