Who put Madeleine McCann to bed on the night she was 'abducted'?

Post by Get'emGonçalo on 28.08.11 12:30

From their statements about Madeleine crying the night before she went missing it appears that Mr and Mrs McCann were not present when the children were put to bed.

Interviewer
Is that not the case, was she not upset the night before?

Mr G. McCann
"The next morning Madeleine said 'why didn't you come when we cried last night' at the time we thought that's odd, we looked at each other and asked her directly when she meant - she just dropped it and moved on. We thought when were they crying? We'd been checking, it would be exceptional for particularly the twins to cry and go back to sleep in between our checks so obviously kids cry all the time when they're getting bathed, when they're tired, when they're doing that so we did wonder if it was when they were getting put to bed or around that time".

Can this statement be interpreted any other way?

The night BEFORE she was abducted

Post by Marian on 28.08.11 14:48

Yes it's certainly an odd remark but, as I'm convinced that the "crying last night" remark
was invented to create the idea that Madeleine was still alive on the morning of 3rd May, I believe that the repercussions of saying it were, like so many other things, just not thought out at the time.

who put madeleine to bed the night she was abducted

in response to Gerry Mc Cann's reply.......... you are talking nonsense. Yes kids do often cry at bathtime and bedtime, but your daughter aksed why you didnt come so we are clearly not talking about fractious kids when you were actually with them, so it is logical to conclude that you were not with them when they were having a bath[ who was? were they unsupervised or with someone else?] or/and at bedtime.

Goncalo Amaral: "It would be interesting to know the reason why Mr David Payne is not taking part in the reconstitution. He might explain for how long he bathed the children and at what time."

The topic of members of the Tapas group bathing each other's children has been raised before but I feel that it's worth mentioning again. Is there anyone here on this site who allows their friends to bathe their children when they are available themselves to do so? It may of course be perfectly innocent but to me it sounds very unusual. I was struck by the Gaspars' comment that they continued to allow Dr Payne to bathe their children (after believing they heard inappropriate comments from him) but not unsupervised.

If they were all swingers then this wouldn't be unusual for them

Who put Maddie to bed the night she disappeared is a good question....first they said it was KM, had a bath...then later they said it was GM, had a shower....then it was GM but had a bath this time. The truth is no-one put Maddie to bed on the 3rd May, she wasn't there

re who put madeleine to bed on the night she was abducted?

Post by russiandoll on 16.09.11 8:59

I have always found it hard to believe that if there had been an accident and hiding of the body before the alleged date of abduction, that even these two cool customers could maintain any semblance of normality eating conversing with friends day evening may 3...... they would have been demented with grief wouldnt they and unable to function normally? I do understand the argument that putting together the abduction scenario after 10pm before police arrived seems barely plausible, could Gerry have returned and found something awful had happened earlier than 10pm....it still seems incredible they could act normally after this...or maybe i should look for something about independent witnesses outside the group timeline who can place them elsewhere at their stated times and contradict the times of comings and goings also their behaviour... it really wrecks your head going through one scenario after another and finding things add up more, then another layer of the onion will throw it all off kilter again.
I just find it so appalling that the PJ could not get on with their job of coolly and objectively assessing all the info due to the media storm and outside interference. and one thing I wish had not happened, that Kate and Gerry had not been, May 4, interviewed simultaneously. I know they were witnesses not suspects at this point, but it appears the PJ were considering all possible scenarios for this missing little girl and given the statistics on how children come to harm the parents had to be put in the frame somwehere... how the hell have this ordinary couple been given so much free rein to dictate terms and so much protection ? I also believe that Madeleine was not put to bed in her parents' room that evening.

Then how do you explain the abnormal phone activity starting with a 4 am call on the 29th?
The handwriting anomalies in the creche records from the 29th?
Both of these would be consistent with something happening way before May 3rd.

If you see the Documentary or Mockumentary from the Mccanns, when Gerry and Jane goes back to PDL to recounstruct the event, Gerry says he was the one putting Madeleine to sleep that night..( if my memory do not fool with me, I saw the mocumentary yesterday)

Edit: It was in that documentary , how I understand it atlest.
Look at around 29.15 min in the vid. He says : She laid there just like i had left her.. For me that sounds like he was putting her to bed.

Very odd indeed

Post by Bebootje on 16.09.11 10:04

At te time they made that remark in the media it seemed very odd to me, because it didn't make them look good at a time the pair was fighting for a better image. So i figured to make that remark was very very important to them. At that time they were aware of the crying incident mrs Fenn made but that incident happened the night before. They knew that incident happened, because the crying stopped at the time they entered the appartment (so mrs Fenn declared) So why didn't they mention that incident? What they maybe didn't know is that Fenn was out on the night of may 2. I always thought that with making that remark they wanted to point out that Madeleine was alive on May 2 and May 3, which could imply that she died at the night of May 1.
But especcially mentioning the children crying around bath time on May 2 makes you wonder if Kate didn't give away the exact time Madeleine died: May 2 arount bath time.
Keep talking Kate.

Thanks so much for pointing this information out. I have read a lot but nothing to do with the issues you mention here.......will read with interest. is it all on mcann files that I am trawling through? Would be very grateful if you could direct me elsewhere.
Despite all the negative responses I have to this pair, I guess to imagine they could be so cold and calculating to have let some days go before their abduction idea took hold.....was a step too far for me.

I think it is safe to say that everything that has been reeased by the PJ, or has been in whatever form published in the media is on the mccannfiles. It is amazing what you can find there.

BTW that site must have an huhe data transfer and Nige, the owner, can always use some financial help to maintain the site.

Another great site is Pamalan's site: http://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk/. For her it's the same: some help is greatly appreciated.
