McCanns - 9 DAYS AFTER Maddie Disappeared

Post by jd on 30.07.11 22:07

This is a picture of the McCanns just 9 days...yes 9 days....after Maddie disappeared, taken on May 12th 2007. One of the many true pictures they don't want you to see

They say a picture says a thousand words, you only need one to describe this one![i][b][i]

And the caption, from her own book
p. 128 "We ate mostly in silence, concentrating on the kids. I couldn't eat much, and alcohol was completely off my agenda. Fiona recalls that Gerry and I were completely shut down that day, barely able to talk, and although our friends tried to remain cheerful and behave normally to get us through it, they all felt awkward about being at this lovely villa, in the sunshine, in these circumstances. There was no cake. Gerry did attempt a toast but he was visibly upset and couldn't manage much more than "I can't even say happy birthday to my daughter...' before choking up. The physical loss was more intense then ever. I ached for Madeleine. "

An insight into the true nature of these people (it's rude not to smile for the cameras dontcha know) or a PR disaster, badly thought out by an "advisor"? I can imagine all other parents in the situation wouldn't have time for food or balloons.....they'd be busy looking for their child.

Yes, it was a very upsetting weekend. Please excuse the format but here are my timeline notes for Maddie's birthday weekend according to Katie's book

Fri 11th to Sun 13th May Day 8 to 10

Church vigil Yellow & Green ribbons. http://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk/4TH_BIRTHDAY.htm

KM meets Paddy, husband of Bridget who came over to search for Madeleine. Paddy gives her his bible.
KM due to be interviewed today (no time yesterday) but Alan Pyke asks for reschedule – concerned for KM’s wellbeing It wouldn’t be because the IFLG & Paralegal were coming by any chance?
John Hill arranges villa for everyone for day so they can celebrate MM’s birthday. McCann family go & T7 & kids & Trish & Sandy. They have barbecue (provided by MW) but are very upset.
Special church service for MM’s birthday
Kat Nanny is sent to Greece – OC staff scaledown because of MM’s abduction
GM & KM amend the statements that they made previously to PJ’s because originals had translation errors. KM says that new statements also had errors. This was on Sunday 13th.
GM & KM go for walk on beach, not followed by media. They discuss possibility of “MM’s perfect genitals being torn apart, discuss possibility of being watched, someone being in the room when GM checked & if KM had done the 21.30 check they might have found her. Also admits that abductor could have used patio door.
JT is summoned to identify the “sighting” man. Russell goes with her and on the way they meet Murat who stops to say hello & tells them that he is on the way to meet police. 3 possible suspects walk across the street, JT is in a car. JT discounts first 2 suspects but after several attempts can’t identify if the 3rd is the man that she saw in 03/05/07 “sighting”
IFLG representative & Paralegal advise that McCann have been well within the bounds of reasonable parenting. They also suggest making MM ward of court. They decide to go ahead with application. They also discuss setting up the fund & BWB draw up articles of association. Then consultant Hugh joined them & told them a benefactor was willing to fund a private investigation company. Hugh advises KM to record everything in Diary. At this point why would McCanns know that they needed a release of records?
Appeals from St Andrew’s cathedral Glasgow, David Beckham, support from Gordon Browne, Sir Alex, Cristiano Ronaldo, John Terry, Ricardo Carvalio, Andriy Shevchenko.
MW has loaned them another apartment “Mission Control”, in addition to “the chosen 4” there is KM’s friend Lynda & FR Seddon helping out. Where did Lynda & “Seddo” materialize from?

I must admit the Mccanns religious beliefs are very deep and in some ways quite disturbing at the level it is at. Asking for a priest an hour after Maddie disappeared is odd, as is also when the police turned up they were both on their knees praying in front of them on the floor. Subsequently they do many things through the church. Im not knocking anyones religion but with these 2 it does to be at a very deeper level to most

As Ma Healy said: they were never that religious. Pretending to be devout is an effective shield against criticism, or it is thought.
Plus the church is a good place for talking without being monitored uh to God

The most significant was Gerry, having a vision on Tue May 8th (day 5 of Madeleine's disappearance) where he saw that he must set up a campaign to find Madeleine. By close of day Wed May 9, according to the new good book by Katie, they had netted £2.6M. Now that would make anyone want to find religion.

Yes is the only answer to this!!! And the news media like the sun, notw etc are not going to care if its a hoax because this is a story that has legs and will sell their rags. From their point of view this is a story that can run for years and years with new sightings etc. They have no morals or care as proved with the hacking of Milly Dowler and Sara Payne, they even admitted that the Sara Payne story was a great seller and their main interest (newsnight on friday), so why would they be bothered if the Mccanns abduction is a hoax. People believe the abduction to be true and this is all they need, so they always have an ongoing story on the back burner when there is a no news day. Its how they work

Sadly, that is the law of supply and demand and poor Madeleine is a victim of these twisted values.

Video of Gerry only 6 days afterwards!

Post by Gillyspot on 25.09.11 23:44

Here is a video of Gerry McCann clearly heartbroken on a balcony just six days after his daughter was "abducted"

My husband and I, as well as my father, mother, my other children, my aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, as well as anyone else who knew her and could afford to come over, would still be out looking for her on day 9.

No way would we be going for "days out" at a villa and a little, sad "celebration." Gerry is clearly not missing (or looking for) his daughter on the balcony video, nor when he is laughing at "escaping balloons" outside the church.

About the smile 9 days after she says this in her book

"The following Friday, on the eve of Madeleine’s birthday,
a youth vigil would be held at the church. Many people wore
green, the colour of hope in Portugal, or carried olive
branches. There was also plenty of yellow, the colour that
has come to symbolize hope for the safe return of a loved
one in the US and latterly in Britain, too. It was an amazingly
uplifting experience. Towards the end of the service, we all
took hold of two lengths of yarn, one yellow, one green,
which bound us together as we sang a Taizé chant: ‘ Nada
nos separará … do amor de Deus’ – ‘Nothing will
separate us … from God’s love.’ Once again it felt as if the
whole congregation was underpinning us, sharing our
burden. On that occasion we came out of the church
actually smiling. Thankfully, we hadn’t quite forgotten how!

We would soon adopt those two colours in our campaign to
find our daughter."

Im sure you wont forget anything in 9 days , what a stupid thing to say. If it was your first smile after a year or two I would understand it, but no one forgets to smile in 9 days...

Quite right jd Kate is reacting to the fact that the video has been online of them laughing (not smiling) since well before she wrote her novel.

mccanns smiling

Post by russiandoll on 26.09.11 16:54

i have read a few you tube comments about the video of gerry in an what looks like the apartment they moved to after 3 may. some people stating no proof this was after the abduction, however it clearly makes no sense that anyone would be videoing them from outside their apartment before the dramatic event of may 3 as they were an unremarkable couple.
as for the church video, to be fair to them ,taken out of context it looks dreadful, but the whole video shows them looking solemn before and after some balloons got in their faces, the point at which there is this still photo.
Im no McCann apologist, far from it, but just wanted to state that out of context things can look very different.

Yes I also think some peoples reaction may have been to try and take their minds off Madeleine, even if it was just for a few seconds. The video clip shows just a few seconds of him larking around. Not sure if I could conclude from this they showed signs of finding it funny. If the clip was longer showing a consistent happy GM, then I would be more likely to conclude he didn't really give a damn.
