Boy chopped up in New York apartment tried to fight off captor: police
A man accused of kidnapping and killing an eight-year-old boy who asked him for directions has been ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation after his lawyer told a judge that his client might be mentally ill.

So as soon as he knew there was a search, he killed the victim ?

So much for AMBER alerts.
So much for publicising the coloboma.
So much for Metodo3 saying they were closing in on the "abductor".
So much for publicising the exact areas of the world where the search was being concentrated.

Why do you think kidnappings are not publicised ? The Press have a voluntary agreement whereby the Police tell the crime correspondent the full story, but it is not printed until the child is found. It is a written agreement, not merely something informal.
All the press have signed up to it. It started after Leslie Whittle and the 'Black Panther", and that stupid fat git of journalist in the local paper who blabbed the lot and may have 'caused' her death.
