Katey didn't like the media attention
p. 220 “The media’s constant refrain was that keeping Madeleine in the headlines could only be a good thing. I beg to differ.”
Keep that in mind.
p. 224 “On 23 August we did an interview with Telecinco...”
p. 225 "Meanwhile Gerry had flown to Scotland to appear at the edinburgh TV Festival. This had arranged back in early June, when he had reasoned that if Madeleine was still missing by the time the date came round, press coverage would have died down and the event would present us with a good opportunity to remind people of the campaign."
p. 225 - Same Page ! "On the Friday, he was giving a telephone interview from Edinburgh to the Daily Telegraph...”
p. 226 “Gerry gave several additional interviews in Scotland...”
“I beg to differ” ???
Keep that in mind.

Advance planning
This is the only instance I know of where either of the McCanns has used a phrase to the effect of "if Madeleine is still missing" at a date in the future. Normally they made plans for events in the future (and indeed they still do) with no consideration of that prospect at all.

my apologies for not knowing how to copy the previous post correctly(maybe someone can tell me how)
i beg to differ, once again another bizarre comment i am beginning to feel as if i feel down the rabbit hole.
how about a list of the times the mc's have come up with the constant refrain to keep Madeleine in the headlines.
1 the paypal button on the website that sells everything to keep the great marketing ploy alive, including the new luggage tags.
Keep that in mind.
