On Liquid Nitrogen Empty On Liquid Nitrogen

Post by aliberte2 05.01.10 17:49

Giving more thought to the Liquid Nitrogen Theory, I Have Come To Conclude That it is Not that Difficult to Get. I was Watching ONe of those Delightful Cooking Shows and The Mediterranean Area Including Spain and POrtugal specialized In Molecular Gastronomy. Practioners of Said Art Use Dry Ice and Liquid Nitrogen to Craft the Foods Into Certain Textures. I am Sure that Portugal Has Many Such Restaurants.

More Likely Dry Ice than Liquid Nitrogen. But Really, they Do Use Both in Molecular Gastronomy.

I did not realise that the affluent white couple were into Mediterranean cookery but bow to your superior knowledge in these matters, old fellow.

Well, why not? So far we have had; chucked into a volacano, hidden in a dead dog, hidden in a tree, hidden in a fridge (now a transportable cooler), hidden in a bag - at least cannibalism is a new one. Refreshing thumbsup

Looking at that link and the price would make me guess that you need rather a lot of it...............

LN2 can be bought at welding and medical supply places. It is pretty cheap - $0.20 to $0.25 per liter. That is less than $1 a gallon - cheaper than milk, gasoline, or bottled water. The only expensive part is that you need a large thermos - called a Dewar to store it, and these can run $500 to $1000. However, they do exist on eBay for less.

Did G.McCann carry a large Dewar or container on board the airplane?

Disguised as a critically ill passenger. It would be pretty easy to do. Is there any code in the blogs that could relate to this?
