Tony you just beat me to it, big grin

Here's article

Parents of missing Madeleine McCann slam WikiLeaks over claims

Dec 19 2010 Bruce Walker, Sunday Mail

MADELEINE McCANN'S parents have told of their heartache as they face a fourth Christmas without their missing daughter and blasted WikiLeaks "smears" for compounding their hurt.

The controversial website released a diplomatic cable from 2007 which suggested that British police played an active role in helping the Portuguese cops build a case against Kate and Gerry McCann over Madeleine's disappearance in May that year.

The McCanns' Portuguese lawyer Rogerio Alves has said the cable was probably refering to the use of sniffer dogs.

They were sent to examine the family's holiday flat, hire car and other things weeks later and before the couple were made official suspects.

But the McCanns said the WikiLeaks release "has led to the repetition of many unfounded allegations and smears both in the UK and in Portugal in particular".

Writing on their website, the couple said: "This has been seized on as an opportunity by those who wish to compound our suffering and hamper our efforts.

"Those who could help Madeleine but choose to do nothing are also complicit in this injustice.

"Without the love and help from so many good people around the world we would not be able to find the strength to continue the fight to find our daughter.

"This month marks our fourth Christmas without Madeleine.

"We hope with all our hearts that wherever she is, she is safe and well and whoever may be with her is treating her with the love and respect she so deserves.

"We would like to thank all our supporters for staying at our side in spite of the injustices that we continue to be subjected to.

"Madeleine is the person who suffers most from all of this injustice. It is this fact alone which causes us the most distress. It is absolutely heartbreaking.

"Thank you to all those who have signed our petition calling on the UK and Portuguese governments to conduct an independent review of Madeleine's case.

"The petition is still ongoing. If you haven't signed and would like to further the search for Madeleine, please sign our online petition or sign a paper petition form.

"Along with our family, we would like to thank everyone who has sent us Christmas cards, letters, donations and gifts at this difficult time of year.

"It is impossible to find enough positive words to describe such kindness or the hugely important and heart-warming effect it has on us.

"Without any doubt, it helps us immensely and we are incredibly grateful."

Madeleine was nearly four when she disappeared from her family's holiday flat in Praia da Luz in southern Portugal on May 3, 2007, while her parents dined with friends nearby.

I found this comment rather strange. So if they hadn't got these people round them they wouldn't fight to find their daughter? Surely you would fight no matter what?

Crap

There is no politics, no particular interest or another kind that can override the search for truth

By: Francisco Moita Flores, a university professor

The WikiLeaks punctured the U.S. safety system and is releasing thousands of documents. One consideration what we knew. The British ambassador informed them that the British police had obtained evidence that Maddie's parents were involved in the death and disappearance of their daughter and that, for reasons of state, just outside simply hidden from the Portuguese Justice. The couple's spokesman did not deny. Just said that this issue was part of the story. It did not matter. When it is protected, this arrogance is allowed. But it is also true that the protection of powerful serves powerful but can never hide the truth, which as you know, always come up.

And the truth is there again. Vigorous, without mercy, without pity those who always wanted to see a moral in this story. Since pious journalists who refused to publish any thesis that was not produced and sold the truth before time: the girl was kidnapped and end point. Everything else was stupidity and bad taste of the Portuguese police and those who have always perceived the impossibility of the famous kidnapping. And that stupidity has been accepted by the public prosecutor, who ordered the filing process. Investigations discontinued, the couple secured the formal truth, justice, severed without any scruples. We know that by WikiLeaks last the thing was well secured by the British government and that the evidence will be who knows where.

The truth is that the criminal investigation can not live with prejudice. Demonstrate the causal links between victim and offender is in any case, the only motivation that presides over the work of the police. There is no politics, no particular interest or another kind that can override the search for truth. This works in Portugal. Every year parents kill children and children killing parents. However, are not protected by any government in particular, neither Portugal nor any other country. Therefore, they are subjected to higher decision of the courts.

It was not the case with indites English child whose unsolved disappearance through the protections surrounding their dads, who, incidentally, have always been treated extremely well in Portugal against the suspicion that hung over them. From campaigns to challenge English newspaper that insulted the dignity of Portugal on behalf of parents. How much did this campaign? Maybe there's another telegram from WikiLeaks to inform us of crap on this issue still needs to know.

The
WikiLeaks perforated the system of security of the USA and it is
spreading thousands of documents. One of them tells what we knew. The
English ambassador communicated them that the English police officer had
obtained proofs of which Maddie's parents were wrapped in the death and
in the disappearance of the daughter and which, for reasons of State,
such it had been pure and simply hidden of the Portuguese Justice. The
spokesman of the couple did not contradict. It hardly advanced that this
subject was making part of the history. It was not interesting. When it
is protected, this arrogance is allowed. However, also it is true that
the protection of the mighty ones serves mighty but never it will be
able to hide the truth, which, since it is known, always comes to from
above.

And the truth there is again. Vigorous, without piety,
without pity of that which they always wanted to see a moral end in this
history. From pious journalists who refused to publish any other theory
that was not the truth sold and produced before time: the kid was
kidnapped and final point. Completely the rest was a stupidity and bad
taste of the Portuguese police officer and of that what always realized
the impossibility of the celebrated kidnapping. And this stupidity was
accepted by the Public prosecution service, which told to file the
process. The interrupted investigations, the protected couple, the
formal, judicial truth cut off without scruples. We know for the
WikiLeaks that at last the thing was sure for the English government and
that the proofs will be one has no idea where.

The truth is that
the criminal investigation cannot live on prejudices. To demonstrate
the connections of causality between victim and criminal is, in any
circumstance, the only motivation that presides at the work of the
police officer. Be no politics, there is not particular interest or of
another type that could be put on top of the search of the truth. This
works in Portugal. And every year parents kill children and children
kill parents. However, they are not protected by any government in
special, not even of Portugal not even of another any country.
Therefore, they are subjected to the superior decision of the courts.

It
was not the case of the unlucky English child, whose disappearance was
still to decide thanks to the protections that surrounded his paizinhos,
which, one says, they were always treated in Portugal of excellent form
face to the suspicions that on them were hanging. From journalistic
campaigns to the English provocation that was insulting Portugal in the
name of the dignity of the parents. How much cost this campaign? Perhaps
there be another telegram of the WikiLeaks than in the information of
the filth that on this subject is still lacking to know.

The bravery of Rosiepops

Tosca, I think indeed it must be the selfsame Rosiepops - and I agree that although it is very late in the day, it is heartening to realise that someone like Rosiepops is just now beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel (just as, you may recall, Dr Gerald McCann did in that strange vision he had on the Sunday evening at church the night after Madeleine was reported missing - not to be confused of course with the Sunday after that, Madeleine's 4th birthday, when he and his wife were seen laughing and smiling outside the church).

It is clearly only a matter of time before folk like Nigel Nessling Vee8, Ian West muratfan, Tony Winters and Pat from Tayport bonnybraes also see the error of their ways and also admit publicly just how wrong they all were.

Rosiepops and her chums...featuring Marcos Alexandre Aragoa Correia

Post by Tony Bennett on 19.12.10 20:08

@Irish Eyes wrote:Is it really rosiepops from the pink forum? I notice Isabel Duarte is their newest member
But possibly not the most infamous member of the public to post on that forum.

Surely that honour must be accorded to Marcos Alexandre Aragao Correia, who has also posted there, the Madeira-born and Madeira-based laywer, who, er

* Lied and said that underground sources had informed him within three days of Madeleine's disappearance that she had been abducted, raped, killed and her body thrown into a lake

* Lied again, after admitting the first lie, by claiming that he had had a vision of a very large evil-looking man strangling Madeleine, this was said to be on a Saturday night in Madeira just after he'd been to his first-ever spritualist church meeting

* Lied by saying he had paid for a diving team to search the Arade Dam 'out of the goodness of his heart', then admitting that controversial Spanish detective agency Metodo 3 had paid him 'expenses' (and, who knows, maybe a bit more?).

That's the kind of company Rosiepops has kept up to now; so heartening though to see the scales beginning to fall off her eyes.

One would assume that there is very little that the left-over supporters would be able to say from now on, except to ask of the members of the Tapas 9 why they have deliberately fooled them, and allowed them to continue screaming their support of the indefensible, during these long gruelling years.

Agreed Tony, a little late but she got there in the end...We have Julian Assange and his team to thank for all those that have seen the light because I don't think they ever would have without Wikileaks. Mrs bravo

It may not be the 'real' Rosiepops. Someone signed the petition in her name, she came on about 5 minutes later typing in capitals that someone was impersonating her.

Oh the irony! While the papers are printing their spin, they are also stating explicitly that it was a "diplomatic cable" and there is no way the mccanns can spin or bash that no matter what.

It's official as official can be that the mccanns were suspected by the UK police AS WELL.

Now, that to me, is the worst hit to their reputation because they cant hide behind their spin that it was the Portuguese who framed them.

But according to the McCann website, that cable is an unfounded smear. They are so important that even diplomats make up stories and lies to discredit them!

They are livid because it's so very official. What can be more official than diplomats communication.
They are livid because that could be used to advantage by Amaral defence team.
Already the injunction overturn is a setback to them, with this diplomat-cable their case against Amaral is weaken further.

Their spin has no leg to stand on in the Courtroom. It's part of the investigation process and no amount of protest from them can erase facts on files.
At most they can fool some public without a morsicum (sp) of cellebulum. If they are hoping to fool judges, they are in for surprises. Their lawyers wouldnt be doing their duty properly if the mccanns are not advised to stfu and stop churning out that dribble in court.
Bet they are not looking forward to the litigation as much as they were before.....because their 'income' is slipping away. And worst of all they may incur some expenditures covering cost of defendent as well.

I agree they can't spin this away as they have all the other inconsistencies, statements, time-line etc. So that's 'a re-write"on the Book then. Can't be scathing about the PJ and not the British Police as they were both in agreement.

So the Book will contain very little if anything at all!
