Parents of Madeleine McCann issue Christmas plea to her kidnappers

By Daily Mail Reporter

Comments (0) Add to My Stories Kate and Gerry McCann have issued an anguished Christmas message to their daughter’s kidnappers begging them to treat her with ‘love and respect’.
As they face their fourth Christmas without Madeleine, the couple wrote on their website of their determination to find her.

They added: ‘We hope with all our hearts that wherever she is, she is safe and well and whoever may be with her is treating her with the love and respect she so deserves.’
Plea: Kate and Gerry McCann are begging their daughter's kidnappers to treat her with 'love and respect'
Madeleine was three when she went missing from a holiday apartment in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz in May 2007.

Mrs McCann, 42, from Rothley, Leicestershire, said the ordeal had been made worse by WikiLeaks claims last week that British police had ‘developed evidence’ against them as they were investigated by Portuguese authorities.

Madeleine's parents are facing their fourth Christmas without their daughter
She said: ‘The WikiLeaks “news” has led to the repetition of many unfounded allegations and smears.’
Mr and Mrs McCann, both 42, have won a series of libel payouts from newspapers over suggestions they were involved in their daughter’s disappearance.

But the leaked cable suggests British police were actively involved in helping to build a case against them.
The couple believe the decision to name them as arguidos jeopardised the hunt for their daughter, because it may have stopped potential witnesses from coming forward with information.

And it forced them to endure an agonising ten-month wait until Portuguese police admitted they had found no evidence against them, and shelved the case.

British police have always insisted they were responsible only for co-ordinating inquiries in Britain at the request of the Portuguese authorities.

Treating her with the love and respect she so deserves. Are these two from a different planet, where was their love and respect the whole of the holiday in PDL in 2007 and ever since.
Anger boiling up again.

That`s not a plea, that`s a rebuttal to the wikileaks article, but at least they have advertised it again.

Love and respect - does that include making sure that she is safe and happy, and not left alone sobbing in a dark and strange apartment, with no-one to comfort and reassure her, for six nights in a row?

Practice what you preach McCann

Sure, sure ,..the monster languishing in a cave in the lawless will treat her with tender loving care, fret not mccanns - ffs which planet are you from!

If they keep up their nice xmas message every year eventually Maddie will turn up looking like well fed and clothed with charming manners.....is that the reason they neglected her and left her with paedophile and did nothing about searching the cave. I will fly to the moon before that happens.

I bet they're get ting a kick out of doing these wicked things and having good laugh at having fooled those guillables while opening up gifts after gifts and cards sent by sheeples.

No loving message for their missing daughter again then...the one they claim they believe is still alive!

"They added: ‘We hope with all our hearts that wherever she is, she is safe and well and whoever may be with her is treating her with the love and respect she so deserves.’"
Is this in fact a coded reference to God ?
People, even if not terribly religious, do talk in these terms about the dead, and go on about being in a 'better place' about Elysian fields, harps, endless love and joy, and so on.
Perhaps the thought of a little girl's body mouldering in a grave is not quite so likely to attract donations.

The No. 1 Theory is that Madeleine was stolen to order by a gypsy gang on behalf of a childless couple who were unable to adopt

Post by Tony Bennett on 19.12.10 10:32

@PeterMac wrote:"They added: ‘We hope with all our hearts that wherever she is, she is safe and well and whoever may be with her is treating her with the love and respect she so deserves.’"
Is this in fact a coded reference to God?
No, I think it's a coded reference to the wealthy childless African (or possibly non-African) couple who paid a fortune to a gypsy gang to abduct Madeleine.

The Sun gave us all the details we could possibly want in their article of 1 September 2010, here is the article with some extracts highlighted in blue:

++++++++++++++

MADELEINE McCann suspect Raymond Hewlett confessed on his deathbed that he KNEW what happened to the little girl, The Sun can reveal.

In a letter to his estranged son Wayne, he denied having anything to do with Maddie's disappearance.
But he said he knew she had been stolen to order by a gipsy gang who kidnap children for wealthy couples unable to have kids or adopt.

Vanished ... Maddie

Hewlett, a serial paedophile seen near the spot where Maddie was snatched in Portugal, said they had a "shopping list" of potential targets - such as a little girl with blonde hair like Maddie.

Private detectives working for Maddie's parents Kate and Gerry are "extremely interested" in Hewlett's claims.
A source close to their ongoing investigation said: "What he says fits the No1 theory, which is that she was stolen to order."

Hewlett died of throat cancer in April, aged 62, after persistently refusing to meet the McCanns' detectives.
He became a suspect because of his appalling record of rape and abduction of children.
And he was living as a nomad in Portugal with his second family when Maddie vanished from the McCanns' holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in May 2007.

Shocked ... son Wayne

Hewlett's letter to builder Wayne, 40, was delivered to the son by a mystery man - thought to be a solicitor or a private eye - a week after he died.

Most of it was an apology for how his vile crimes had affected his first wife Susan and Wayne.

But then he went on to write about Maddie, who was nearly four when she went missing.
Wayne, of Telford, Shropshire, said: "It was a bolt from the blue and I shook when I read it.

"He stated he didn't want to go to his grave with us thinking he had done such a horrible thing.

"He said he had had nothing to do with taking Maddie but did know who had.

"He said a very good gipsy friend he knew in Portugal had got drunk and 'let it out' that he had stolen Maddie to order as part of a gang.

"My dad said this gang had been operating for a long time and had snatched children before for couples who couldn't have children of their own.

"Maddie had been targeted. They took photos of children and sent them to the people they were acting for. And they said Yes or No.

"Dad said the man told him it was nothing to do with snatching children for a paedophile gang or for a sexual reason.

"He said there were huge sums of money involved. And he totally believed what this man was saying."

The account fits with others surrounding the Maddie mystery.

Several strange men were seen taking photos of children around the Ocean Club resort in the days before she vanished. And The Sun revealed earlier this year that a British expat thought he had seen Maddie in a white van driven by a gipsy couple the day after she was lost.

Hope ... parents Kate and Gerry McCann

Wayne, who had no contact with Hewlett for nearly 20 years, said his father's letter seemed "very genuine".

He added: "I don't know if this is what happened to Maddie or not, but it does make sense. I can't believe he'd go to those lengths to make up some elaborate lie when he was so weak and ill."

Wayne said he considered going to Kate and Gerry with the letter but was worried it could cause them more heartache if it gave them false hope. He added: "I actually burned it because it unnerved me so much.

"To have a letter from someone you hated for so long was just mind-blowing. I couldn't deal with it."

Wayne did not contact The Sun about the message. We learned of its existence through a friend.

But now he intends to sit down with the Maddie detectives to tell them everything he knows.

The McCanns' spokesman Clarence Mitchell said last night: "We are extremely grateful to Wayne for coming forward with this information and the detective team will be interviewing him as a matter of priority."

Maddie in Africa for Christmas?

Post by Cheshire Cat on 19.12.10 12:31

I guess it is the dark skinned Maddie that we are now looking for. The CEOP Minute for Madeleine which revealed the dark skinned Maddie is out of date as it was made in 2009 and refers to Madeleine being six years old. It also is narrated by Gamble. Surely time to update that video? Or will the new broom at CEOP ditch it?

One would hope that the new broom at CEOP would take a rather more detached view of his task.
As we had hoped the new Home Secreary would have done, and the new Prime Minister.
But sadly everyone these days is trying to be popular, and the new man may drop straight into the same elephant trap.
Some of it may depend on how he is briefed.

lol!

Should they not be asking the abductors or kidnappers to bring Madeleine home, rather than treat her with love and respect? One would not wish to knock them for asking that Madeleine be treated with love and respect of course, but surely it would be better to demand that she was finally released from wherever it is they would like the publlic to believe she is, and brought home to the family?

One agrees very much with sharonl regarding this being a rebuttal to the Wikileaks stories.

In that case, whoever she is with will be treating her with the love and respect she so deserves. There you go, Kate and Gerry. Sorted.

I think this is very ominous - if the Wikileak has proved that there was suspicion by the British Police they were involved in the disappearance of their daughter then the "libel payouts from newspapers" may have to be returned. Or are they naive enough to think it will garner some sympathy donations.

Or is it because they believe the lack of evidence and the case being shelved will counter any recourse. The Wikileaks may produce some evidence though.

To add to that why didn't the UK police come out and say all this when the papers were being sued by the McCanns. If I were the editor of the Express I would be considering suing the UK police for complicity and withholding information.

Archbishop of York including mccanns in his xmas message

Post by aiyoyo on 26.12.10 16:45

Has anyone seen this?

Christ on a bike, why would he include mccanns case in his Xmas prayer when thousands of children all over the world are suffering atrocities of one thing or another. Disappearance, abuse, slave labour, all sorts... He talks about sufferings...it's not only the mccanns who suffered. He forgets even in UK alone they are other missing persons still waiting to be recovered or discovered.

They are plenty other people who suffered misfortune or calamity ...why named specifics?

Why single them out for a special mention in his prayers, did he write his own speech or was he advised what to say? Imagine how hurt parents of missing children will feel to see the McCanns, yet again, given preferential treatment - the Archbishop should extend his prayers to all parents of missing children, not the chosen few as selected by himself. In the end, it is for God to decide whether or not the McCanns are deserving of anyone's prayers.

I dont think he should be singling anyone out but should be including everyone in his prayers and make a general reference rather than mentioning individual names, how does that make those feel who may have a loved one missing but not get a mention, does that mean their loved one is less deserving of special prayers than those who are mentioned! He ought to know better!

But people are singled out by the religious.
Think what happens when there is a disaster with many killed. It is always a "miracle" that the others survived.
Well thank you God, for not performing the same 'miracle' for the dead ones !
In this case it is of course a 'miracle' that the 'abductor' did not take the twins, or that they did not die of the chloroform which Edgar said he used, or that the flat did not catch fire.
So much for which to be thankful !
The real miracle for theMcCs is that the body has not yet been discovered. Look at their faces as they come out of church the week later so see evidence of that.
