Out come of Operation Grange wound up

Post by willowthewisp on 26.04.16 14:00

It would seem from the recent postings articles,Sky,BBC etc, that SY's finest are still in pursuance of a Paedophile Burglar taking or involved with Madeleine's disappearance, where doe's this fit in with DCI Andy Redwood stating that Madeleine could not have been alive when she disappeared from within 5a Ocean Club apartment, reported as missing 3 May 2007,did the Burglar do it,as Sir Berard,DCS Mick Duthie are of the opposite opinion that Madeleine could be alive?

One current lead?!

I had one 'currant bun' once...it cost 42p,  I ate it in 5 seconds flat & that was the end of that!
What a waste of 42p. I could have counted & inspected each and every 'currant', sniffed the doughy flour, dissected & admired the pattern whirls that lead to the centre as I watched the morning sunrise.  Better still I could have toasted it ( to hell with the electricity expense) & smothered in butter savoured, chewed and contemplated each 'mouthful' in appreciation & acknowledgment of the baker who made it!!!

5 years...12M Plus!.

There are no leads other than the McCanns et al!!!!?

I think Scotland Yard will have been looking at the McCanns .... they must have been .... what kind of a police force would they be if they didn't consider them as possible suspects at all? They have all the same evidence in front of them that we do. And they must have discussed it fully with the Portuguese.

They just won't want to publicise the fact due to the outrage it would cause in the Uk and the effect it would have on the other McCann children. At the moment the police simply do not have the proof either way, that Madeleine was abducted (however unlikely) or enough evidence to arrest the McCanns.

At the present time (14.58) there is no official statement on the Met’s site.

The  BHH quotes were taken from an LBC interview this morning at 8 am when a caller asked what the chances are of finding Madeleine McCann.

Unfortunately sound on the the link is intermittent at present and you cannot here what he actually said, but it must have been fairly ‘off the cuff’ even if he was primed, so we have to rely on the Telegraph & BBC reports at the moment.

Whats the saying about left hand?

18/4/16 - Detective Chief Superintendent Mick Duthie, the head of the Yard’s homicide squad, said officers were pursuing “justifiable and reasonable” leads in the investigation into the missing three year-old.
Mr Duthie, who is in overall charge of the investigation Operation Grange, said: “There is ongoing work. There is always a possibility that we will find Madeleine and we hope that we will find her alive.
“That’s what we want and that’s what the family and the public want and that is why the Home Office continue to fund it. There is work that needs to be done still. “

Right hand:

26/4/16 - Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has said.
‘The UK-based investigation into her disappearance could finish in the next few months, he told LBC radio.
The remaining line of inquiry is centred around a letter asking for assistance sent from UK investigators to the Portuguese Public Prosecution Service in July 2015.’

Is Sir BHH insinuating that in the last  week the Met have concluded that MM is no longer with us?

Surely they can’t stop ‘looking’ when there ‘is always a possibility that we will find Madeleine and we hope that we will find her alive’.

How heartless Sir B.

Highly unlikely - it's not the norm.

Besides, a vast amount of their time has been reviewing the PJ files so it would only be a reiteration.  Add to that, their major leads and areas of interest have already been reported by way of Operation Grange updates, press releases from various representatives from the Metroplitan police and Crimewatch productions.

Who needs any more information to confirm their agenda?

No can do!  That nasty evil sardine munching wine swilling foreigner has stripped them of all their assets.  First he interferes with their search by publishing libelous material about culpability which deterred the public from searching on their behalf and now a double whammy,  he going to try and steal all their loverly money that they were going to use to continue the search - as and when no official source is proactively searching for their daughter!

PHEW!
Think you nailed it there, Verdi.

This will be the only line of reasoning exonerating them for not searching in reality.

However, one word of caution. The last week has seen a lot of statements in the MSM attributed to the Mecs. What proof do we have they have really uttered them?

We do not know what they are really doing/thinking/saying at present

In fairness, missing child or not, you can't expect any police force in the civilised world to continue an active investigation without any new evidence/leads to persue.  At some stage any unsolved investigation must be shelved untilsuch times as new information may come to light.

Not of course excusing the force behind Operation Grange, I feel they exhausted all lines of inquiry somewhere around May 2011 - come to think on it, more likely around September 2007.

howdy Have the populace ever known really what they've been thinking this past nine years?  We know what they've been saying by way of media presence sitting on the comfy McCann friendly sofas but the press reports are another matter altogether - that proverbial sourc close to the McCanns?

In case you've missed it, this is the latest update on the official (tongue in cheek) website that hasn't priviously been updated since Christmas 2015..

Updates

19 April, 2016 - Statement from Gerry and Kate Regarding Libel Case

We are disappointed with today’s ruling from the Portuguese Appellate Court. As we have said in the past, this action has never been about money. It has always been focused on the effects of the libels on our other children and the damage that has been done to the search for Madeleine.
We will continue to defend ourselves against this libel and the search for our daughter. We will be appealing to the Portuguese Supreme Court.
Madeleine is still missing and we will do everything we can to get her home.
Thank you for your continued support.

Gerry and Kate

Still, there's always that mysterious 750k floating about - might at least pay a couple of mortgage installements.

Madeleine Inquiry Could End Soon - Met Chief

Officers are pursuing one remaining line of inquiry, and unless any new evidence emerges, the British investigation will end.

10:44, UK, Tuesday 26April 2016
--------------------------------

The investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann could end in the next few months, according to the head of the Metropolitan Police.

Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe said investigators are pursuing one remaining line of inquiry and unless any new evidence emerges, that will mean the end of the British investigation.

Madeleine was three years old when she went missing while on holiday with her parents in Portugal in 2007.

Despite a high-profile hunt, no trace of her has ever been found.

Sir Bernard told LBC radio: "There's been a lot of investigation time spent on this terrible case."

May 2015: Police Probe Break-Ins

"It's a child who went missing, everybody wants to know if she is alive and if she is where is she, and sadly if she's dead then we need to give some comfort to the family."

"It's needed us to carry out an investigation together with the Portuguese and other countries have been involved".

"There is a line of inquiry that remains to be concluded and it's expected that in the coming months that will happen."

The Home Office has approved £95,000 of funding to keep the investigation, which only has a handful of officers still working on it, going for another few months.

Sir Bernard said: "The size of the team has come down radically, we are now down to two or three people in that team, at one stage there were about 30 officers in it."

"There is a line of inquiry that everybody agrees is worthwhile pursuing."

When asked when the investigation, known as Operation Grange, will end, he added: "At the moment it would be at the conclusion of this line of inquiry unless something else comes up.

"If somebody comes forward and gives us good evidence we will follow it."

"We always say that a missing child inquiry is never closed."

"First of all, the line of inquiry that is being pursued, that obviously is important and it is important that is resolved, and I think it will be."

"If something new comes forward we will investigate it, but that line of inquiry probably at the moment is the conclusion of this inquiry."

The UK investigation into Madeleine's disappearance was launched in 2011.

Scotland Yard detectives later highlighted a sex offender who targeted British families with young children staying in villas in the same area where she was last seen.

Despite no obvious progress since, last week Detective Chief Superintendent Mick Duthie, head of the force's murder squad, remained hopeful.

He said: "There is ongoing work. There is always a possibility that we will find Madeleine and we hope that we will find her alive."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only ONE 'line of inquiry' left and if 'investigated', in the words of DCI Driscoll, 'without fear or favour, ill will or malice', we'd all know to whose 'door' that would 'lead'.

All the 'layers' of DCI Redwood's 'onion' peeled, only '9 persons' LEFT to be 're-interviewed', seperately, 'under caution'.

Sir Bernard told LBC radio: "There's been a lot of investigation time spent on this terrible case."

'terrible case'? Sir B. Howe would you 'know' that?

You can say 'abducted', BHH, for it's been an almost 5 years, £16million, 'investigation' into THE 'abduction' of Madeleine McCann YOUR officers have been 'investigating'

Or maybe, just maybe, there was NO 'abduction' and you've been only 'investigating on what you were TOLD, ONLY by two people, the very last two people to have seen a 'live' Madeleine.

Didn't you recently say that your MET Police 'officers should NOT 'automatically' BELIEVE what they are TOLD' and should investigate to the best of their ability to 'confirm' the validity of the accusation/story.

With the Madeleine 'case' MET Police believed, without question, WHAT THEY HAD BEEN 'TOLD'!

You even put up a reward for information about Madeleines 'abductors'

WHO 'told' you that Madeleine 'had been abducted'

Answers on the back of a stamp!

FREE ADRIAN PROUT!

Oh, hang on...............

IMO, 'obviously'

Yes, it was another dear child who Mother was also found dead... Sad

Madeleine it seems is always excluded, not found, not her, etc etc always a spin from the start AND if they want to pin it on some unbeknown 'suspect' they will do, probably working on it as I type.!?

That reminds me must buy some new white paint for the pebbledash!

I wonder if this "last line" has something to do with this?

Snipped from Express October 2014
Met Police team led by DCI Andy Redwood announced their wish to look again at forensic material collected in the early days of the Madeleine McCann investigation during a visit to the university town of Coimbra earlier this month.

They met with the bosses of Portugal’s Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences in Coimbra, two hours drive north of Lisbon, where most of the material, also said to include 25 blood and saliva samples, is held.

Institute president Francisco Brizida, said afterwards: “I have the certainty they went away very happy.”

“The tonic of the meeting was about the possibility of the tests on samples collected in 2007 being re-done.

“The British police wanted clarification on the examinations the institute had carried out during the early stages of the inquiry in the areas of genetics and biology.

“We talked about non-identified material that was collected in Madeleine’s apartment.

“I can’t say for sure new DNA tests that didn’t yield a conclusive result in 2007 could now yield an objective result.

“But technology nowadays allows us to go further than years ago in areas like genetic markers.

“Several possibilities are open. One could be that British police do the tests in Britain with British technology and another that the institute does them.

“But that’s an area in which the institute does not have the last word. There’s a situation of judicial cooperation and a new international letter of request would be necessary.

Plenty of people have already sent you bundles of good evidence, but you`ve obviously decided to ignore it - now why is that Bernard ?

Let's hope so as nothing has been 'revealed' which holds serious merit to the investigation to achieve some justice & truth for Madeleine... judging by what is regurgitated in the media!

Can anyone enlighten me please?

What is the difference between the Met and MI5?  Amaral mentions the MI5.

If the Met ceases its investigation, does it mean that the PJ will stop too?

How can the Met whitewash this case when the crime occurred in Portugal?

If the PT investigation continues, will witnesses and suspects have to be extradited?

Or can the PJ go to the UK and interview as they did before?
