Will Philip Green and his wife be scrutinsed over BHS liquidation/Pension Scheme, their shares and profits

Post by willowthewisp on 25.04.16 14:43

Ten Thousand British Home Stores  employees are to be made redundant after the Company goes into receivership,Philip Green rescued BHS and after twelve months in charge had received over one hundred and sixty five million pounds as part of his remuneration package?
The UK Government is set to "Bail out" the BHS pension fund after reported losses of 1/2 Billion pounds in it's fund?
Sir Philip Green( he is not) sold the Company BHS for £1.00 just over twelve months ago,"Nothing to do with me Governer" I sold it as a going concern.Yeh, how much did you pay your missus in shares and what did you put in her name eh Sir Philip?
The "Tax payer will pay it" Eh Dave?
Have a look at an article from Guardian, Tuesday 4th March 2003 with Sir Philip being ever so articulate over how this business was being run?

BHS to be wound down as rescue attempt fails

Department store BHS is to go into liquidation with the loss of up to 11,000 jobs after efforts to find a buyer failed.
The decision followed a lengthy bidding process aimed at saving BHS, which went into administration in April.
But none of the offers was judged acceptable by administrators Duff & Phelps, who blamed "seismic shifts" in the retail sector for the collapse.
All 163 BHS stores will be holding closing sales over the coming weeks.
Hilco Retail Services has been appointed to assist in the process of winding down the BHS store network.

Hopes of rescuing the store chain had rested on a late offer from a company led by retailer Greg Tufnell and reportedly backed by Portuguese money.
But sources told the BBC that in the end, the financial backing for the bid failed to materialise.
Other bidders who failed to convince the administrators included a consortium led by Matalan founder John Hargreaves, as well as separate offers from Sports Direct's Mike Ashley and Poundstretcher boss Aziz Tayub.

Closing sales

"Despite the considerable efforts of the administrators and BHS senior management, it has not been possible to agree a sale of the business," said the administrators in a statement.

It's a sad day when BHS goes under. It's on par with losing Woolworths

I feel sorry for the staff.  I know that in my town at any rate, the recession has bitten hard and it win't be easy for them to find anything else. Sad

The amazing thing about BHS was its complete reluctance/almost denial to have an online shopping service. When all other retailers were doing the IT thing Sir Phillip wasn't interested.

BHS was so tardy in their online business it was almost paying lip service. Even their online shop was limited.

Whilst every other business was dealing with online shopping BHS was reluctant. Now why would that be?

So you could sell it as a "going (con)cern for £1.00 whole pound" as a legal transfer of the Business, whilst basking in the Monaco sunsets sipping Champagne with your other half's portfolio of Investments that they Acquired?
Sir Philip to join Asil Nadir,Robert Maxwell in a crooks disguise as legitimate business leaders, fleecing the Workers from the Companies assets?

"Strip him of his knighthood"?  No, let him keep it - since hearing about the Spartacus Club, the Elite Paedophile ring at the helm of the British Government, the number of Lords and Sirs  who have been suspected of child abuse, and the cash for honours scandal of 2007 (I think its still going on),
to me, these honours are worthless.  When I hear such titles these days I wonder what crimes that highly honoured being is guilty of. It may only be a few of them but they are getting a very bad reputation.

Sir Phillip Green is just another face for the McCann Rogues Gallery.

Can anyone name a McCann supporter, benefactor, investigator etc. with a good reputation?

BHS collapse: Sir Philip Green demands 'biased' MP Frank Field resigns

Sir Philip Green has demanded MP Frank Field resigns as chairman of a Commons inquiry into the collapse of BHS.
The retail billionaire and former BHS owner said he was "not prepared to participate" with the work and pensions committee hearing, scheduled for Wednesday, unless Mr Field stands down.

Snipped from the BBC article

The retail billionaire and former BHS owner said he was "not prepared to participate" with the work and pensions committee hearing, scheduled for Wednesday, unless Mr Field stands down.

.................

"I am not prepared to participate in a process which has not even the pretence of fairness and objectivity and which has as its primary objective the destruction of my reputation," he wrote.

................

Sir Philip has previously said he would appear before the committee on condition that his wife Tina Green, who owns a company which controls Arcadia Group, was not called.

...................

My comment now.

How many people within the BBC and government are in the pay of this odious man?

How long will it take to bring a corporate crook to book?

I'll answer that. It will take forever and a day. It will cost the UK taxpayer a packet and nothing will happen that smacks of any form of justice.

Sir Shifty milked BHS to build 'incredible wealth' for his family, MPs find as damning report is set to leave Philip Green's knighthood hanging by a thread

Tomorrow's newspapers front pages are mainly carrying this story. I am stunned by the shifty people that seem to surround the McCanns. P Green, C Freud, Halligen, and the list goes on and on and on.

Am I being cynical, or are the McCanns just unfortunate that they are like magnets that attract  such unscrupulous people?

Today's slant is on whether Sir Phillip should keep his title.

That's what it boils down to.

The fact he was given a title seems to matter little.

The fact he has screwed up so many people's lives matters little too.

It's now a case of 'can Sir Phillip keep his title', 'if Sir Phillip pays up the entire pension fund deficit can he keep his title' is what is being suggested.

There's nothing about corporate fraud. Perhaps that's because it's 'all within the realms of responsible parenting business ownership and law'.

It is of course all nonsense. Sir Phillip has so many people in the pocket of his shorts that he'll never be brought to book. This inquiry is a farce. I hope the media keep prodding away.

I'm not sure if this little snippet from the paper edition of today's Daily Mail belongs here or in the Mark-Williams-Thomas thread, so I'll put it in both.

It's a two-page article about the top celebs who like to be photographed at the posh restaurant, Scotts of Mayfair.

One pic is of Sir Philip Green Greed enjoying a meal there with Simon Cowell.

Alison Boshoff of the Mail writes:

The controversial former BHS boss Sir Philip Green and talent show terror
Simon Cowell have been close for a good decade, and not long after this picture was taken in 2008, they announced plans in GQ magazine to create a business together. The venture never took off, but the two men still holiday together annually".

---------------------------

Simon Cowell…

1. Is currently producing a TV documentary series with self-styled ‘criminologist’ and professed child sex abuse expert Mark Williams-Thomas

2. Once put up a huge amount of bail money when paedophile Jonathna King was arrested, and

3. Until recently had Max ‘I-make-more-money-by-keeping-stuff-out-of-the-papers’ Clifford as his agent (I wonder why? – does he need a publicity agent?

So the dots connect Sir Philip Greed to Cowell; they’ve holidayed together for the past decade...

The dots connect Cowell to Mark WiIliams-Thomas...

The dots connect Mark Williams-Thomas to the McCanns and to Jim Gamble...

The dots connect Sir Philip Greed’s private jet to the McCanns...

The dots also connect Sir Philip Greed to Tony Blair, warmonger who illegally invaded Iraq setting off wholesale destruction in that area of the world – since it was Blair who recommended Greed for a knighthood – for (ahem) his services to the retail trade.
