In answer to a number of requests by members, here are the details of how to support Tony via C.O.L.D. (Campaign for Oppressed Libel Defendants).

For information, C.O.L.D. has, from donations received to date, made payments so far to Tony totalling just over £2,000.

His total costs and payments so far arising out of his defence of the McCanns’ libel and contempt of court cases have amounted to over £25,000. He still has to pay £125 per month by Standing Order to Carter Ruck’s bank account until 25 April 2023 - another 89 payments, or £11,125.

C.O.L.D. is an independent trust of which Tony is not a member. Its stated aim is to “help defendants to libel actions who are oppressed by wealthy and powerful libel claimants”.

@sharonl - thanks for that. Excuse my ignorance but is the account you name exclusive to Tony Bennett - not sure how this C.O.L.D aid works.

Whatever, perhaps after all there is to be a seasonal truce - I see Cristobell has allowed your post, in it's entirety, to be published by an anonymous on her blog. Although I think the anonymous poster was intending to be vicious, at least the information has been passed on to a wider audience so maybe things are looking up. Cristobell has said in the past that her blog has an extensive following so hopefully the message will encourage more people to donate - who knows she might even spread the news via twitter.
