A long and involved article in the Guardian today gives a full account of the acquittal of the once prospective French presidential candidate and ex boss of the IMF, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, on a charge of 'aggravated pimping'. Prostitution is currently not illegal in France but procuring prostitutes for the kind of regular orgy this character indulged in is. What interested me, in the context of Textusa's core theory, put forward on her website, is the fact that his defence was that he was a dedicated 'swinger', and joined in these activities with other happy afficionados of the practice, all of whom came voluntarily, and for their own pleasure at group sex, or sex with strangers. Many of them cavorting on the mattresses were said to be famous people, or at least well known ones.
