Amber Peat - Another missing girl

Post by PeterMac on 02.06.15 12:19

Just on the SKYnews, missing since Saturday - it is now Tuesday !
Mansfield, England
13 year old,
mother and stepfather say she stormed out of the house after a dispute over domestic chores, having just returned from holiday in the South of England.
and it was the best holiday they had ever had . . . !

Worrying news conference, led by a canny old colleague of mine, Matt McFarlane
Stepfather clasping the hand of mother.
Mother's eyes flicking round the room, hyper-vigilant, out of her depth. But no expression on her face. Nothing. Total blank
Stepfather doing some 'almost crying', and started to drivel on about how she loved reading . . . Matt let him !
Then an interesting remark about how she did not have access to the internet . . . Not now, or not ever ? I cannot work that one out. What is the message ?

No helicopters, no massive police search, volunteers were given fluorescent jackets and made to wander round in different areas overnight
everything concentrated on the house and the immediate area, and talking to people.
Very worrying.
Let us hope it is innocent and she is found safe and well.

Always a concern when there is a stepfather in the family of a missing female teenager.

A dispute over domestic chores?

Mother did not cry.
Stepfather who has been there for 2 years - married in 2013 - apparently cried and was emotional . . .!
Surely the other way round. He should be the detached one, she the emotional one.

Still no wide searches. All concentrating round the house and the immediate area.
How long before dogs ?

Hmmm.

Just watched Sky News about Amber.

mother 'heard' door 'slam' Amber 'gone'

Did 'mum' rush outside to see what was going on, with the door 'slammer'?

Now why would an 'abductor' draw 'attention' to activity by 'slamming' door'?

NO 'evidence' of 'abduction' but 'mentioned'.

Missing Person 'alert' issued to every UK police force.

Kate's 110,000 'posties' on alert?

Shannon Matthews, anyone?

The 'cop' at conference was 'attentive' to what was being 'said' by 'parents'

(LOTS of 'sniffles', NOT many 'tears')

A 'missing person' alert, just days before a 'missing person' UK 'bike ride'.

thinking

Where's the UK wide, 'missing child' alerts for the OTHER 480 'children', (one 'every' three minutes, according to Missing Children 'charidy') that went 'missing' yesterday and will go 'missing' today?

Hope Amber is 'safe'.

Mr Peat said: "She wouldn't be able to stay out. She's a tiny little thing and the weather's been freezing.

"We think she's may be in somewhere with somebody."
-------------------------------------------------------------
"We think she's may be in somewhere with somebody."

EXACTLY what Karen Matthews 'said' about 'missing' Shannon!

Just watched the interview. Ominous, really. As mentioned, mother very blank, although appeared to me to be fairly natural.
As soon as I saw the online article I was avidly looking to see if the father was a 'step' father or not. Sad - but that's what I do now.
Sure enough a 'step father'  - sort of crying, with hankee, sniffing, over talkative... hmmmm.. does not bode well. Not her natural father.
Young attractive teenage girl.

Police don't believe 'abduction'.

Reporter said on BBC 'Amber had NO 'access' to 'a' mobile phone'

Other reporter saying 'without HER mobile phone'

What was that about............ 'confusion'?

Mo, I am thinking the same thing. It's been stated that the mother and stepfather have only been married 2 years. I am of the opinion that the stepfather should be supporting the distraught mother. Something isn't right.

Hmm the info given by the parents is fragmented if you know what I mean.  I am sure the police would have given guidance with regard to info they should be giving to the press.  The thing is did she have a mobile or didn't she?  Doesn't use the Internet but likes reading - reading what?  No mention from the parents about them contacting her friends, although they said that she could be at a friends.  It sounds awful this but I don't think they have taken much notice what she does or doesn't do. What made the holiday great to make her laugh so much.

Police 'searching home'
Police are reportedly searching a house close to where missing schoolgirl Amber Peat disappeared after a row with her parents.
Fears have been growing over the 13-year-old who stormed out of her home in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, on Saturday afternoon.
There have been reports that the property of a pensioner close to her family home is being searched.
A Nottinghamshire Police press officer confirmed officers are carrying out searches on a number of buildings in the local area but there are no official suspects and no warrants issued

More details on house search
More details about the house the police searched have emerged.
Officers spent an hour looking at the house in the same Mansfield street as Amber's home.
It is believed a man in his 70s lives in the house, but police thought Amber may have hidden there because he has been in hospital in the past few months.
Officers were also seen sifting through an area of grassland roughly half a mile from their home, reports the Nottingham Post.

Has anyone seen her in her home town, after the family returned from their holiday?

In other words: did she ever reach/leave/return from Cornwall?

Amber Peat (13) is missing.

Post by Benion on 02.06.15 18:56

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-32966423

Something not quite right here. I have looked at a few articles on Amber and her parents' appeal on YouTube.

I wish to make the following points:
1. sounds like a very withdrawn and quiet child, a studious type. Stepfather says she just loved to read books (nothing wrong with that of course, however it does not sound like she has gone out on an extended party).
2. she left the house with no mobile phone, which is unlike most teenagers who seem to be permanently attached to the things
3. her parents are saying that they have just come back from the best holiday of their lives
4. she allegedly stormed out the house following a minor verbal altercation over doing household chores.

The parents seem genuine to me, however something is definitely not good here (understatement of the year).

Same name, wrong county

Post by PeterMac on 02.06.15 19:44

Surely this is not the same Danny Peat as

http://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/hm-revenue-customs-hmrc/pressreleases/derbyshire-man-jailed-for-tax-fraud-1032020

Danny Thomas Peat (previously known as Daniel Dale Twells), DOB 04/01/84, of Peveril Road, Tibshelf, Alfreton, Derbyshire was sentenced at Derby Crown Court.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of making false statements with intent to defraud, contrary to Common Law on February 2014 at the same court.
Peat had made attempts to gain tax payments totalling £120,566 using online self-assessment tax returns for tax years 2010 to 2011 and 2011 to 2012.
He falsified details of his Pay As You Earn income and claimed he was self-employed with large business expenses.
HMRC investigators proved his income, expenses and employment status were all faked. . .
The pair pleaded guilty to the fraud at separate court hearings earlier this year. Peat was jailed for 16 months and Plunkett was jailed for 6 months for the tax fraud, plus 9 months for other police offences. suspended for 18 months.

I can't believe it, obviously.

But then didn't he say they had not lived there very long . . . .

So let us look at the face .
Mug shot from the article above.

Uncanny, don't you think.

Shame they did not have you heading up Operation Grange!

So he is a dirty fraudster. I thought he seemed genuine on the YouTube clip, not so sure now....
