The bloke on the extreme right maybe a Portuguese police officer, looks like he's wearing jackboots.

I assume the red-and-white pole is to show where the holes are for their afternoon golf tournament.

Quinta da Luz looks one heck of a nice place to stay for a couple of weeks in the autumn sunshine - anyone know how much it costs to hire it?

Does it have a sauna, jacuzzi and full-size snooker table?

Redwood clutches that bright blue folder as tightly and as often as Dr Kate McCann used to hold Cuddle Cat.

It must be due for a wash soon

Part of it is almost like a guessing game...there are two groups of people...guess who they are... there are two Britons in each group...guess who they are...one of the group of two Britons is a couple...the other group isn't...guess which is which...the other Britons are two men...guess who they are...they are not related to others...they were and are resident in the Algarve...guess where on the Algarve...there's a woman from Eastern Europe we want to talk to...guess which European country she's from...send your entries in before Detective Chief Inspector Redwood is photographed again by ExclusivePics emerging from the Quinta da Luz next week...

New snippets are IMO deliberately being leaked to British journalists by Scotland Yard to feed the press's appetite for ~~profits~~ news about the Madeleine McCann investigation - building up to more and more pictures and names and other details to feed the press with in the coming fortnight - and nicely choreographed with next week's Channel 5 documentary about the mystery of Madeleine McCann. All planned.

All part of a genuine investigation - or just for show to influence public perception?

Very similar language we read (officially) in this case. The way the police interact with the press has changed a lot.

Whether it is for the good (genuine investigation) or bad (whitewash) we'll have to wait and see.

I think ultimately we'll get a bit of both. Some will be thrown under the bus and most/all of the really high ups protected.

In reference to 7 out of 11 are going to be declared arguidos??? That's a lot of arguidos leaving only 4 that are not going to be declared arguidos. Wonder how they arrived at those people being suspects in this case?
So are they saying 7 people probably abducted Madeleine? Sounds like B.S. to me roll

I think if they are going to make 7 people arguidos/suspects i hope they have some damn good reasons for doing that, and i hope if anyone is innocent among that lot of arguidos that they sue the state for whatever they can, for what will probably be libelous accusation of their good name if it is plastered all over the media, and their name is dragged through the mud.
This whole case just seems very evil and implicating innocent people for what was the responsibility of the parents and their negligent actions toward their children that resulted in the disappearance of their eldest child. If those two had of been responsible parents none of this would of happened, and people wouldn't of died because of them, and wrecked other people's lives into the bargain. It's always everyone else's fault but theirs, who the heck do they think they are? What a sham it all is.
I really hope Mr. Amaral sues the pants off them successfully, at least one little victory in all of it would be some little semblance of Justice, because i don't think Madeleine will ever get any justice, unfortunately.

According to this photo, Andy is bringing along Cockney actor, Jason Statham, and former-England football manager, Fabio Capello.

They now know that they can't find an abductor / burglar / child-killer to pin this on (unless he's dead and annoyingly the PJ have scuppered Tractorman) - so AR has no option except to give the firm conclusion that it was "Anyone But the McCanns". They can be British, East European, Portuguese, dark skinned, white ... doesn't matter. So long as the final conclusion is that it wasn't the McCanns.

The most recent Textusa blog is a very useful and well documented summary of all the Arguidos. Not sure if we are permitted to post a link to it, so I will not. The conclusion is interesting too - an alternative interpretation of why so many arguidos.

"Of the 7 suspects, 2 UK nationals both male, and assuming 4 Portuguese and 1 foreign woman (Central/Eastern Europe?)

Of the 4 witnesses, 2 UK nationals, a couple – not related with the 2 Brit suspects, and assuming 2 Portuguese."

This is in addition to the earlier 4 arguidos (of which 3 remain arguidos, Malinka possibly ruled out). So a possible total of 10 arguidos as of today.

Fresh faced and youthful he is said to resemble a photofit prepared by an elderly British couple of a man who came to their villa with an older man to collect money for a charity on May 3 2007.
