What would that number be doing all this time? There has been time for the case files to have been gone over a dozen times, plus they have had the help and input of fora like this one and the input of many individuals highlighting helpful, checkable information.
And still SY persist in returning to Portugal to further interview 3 suspects. Why would they need to interview them again; given the distances involved you would think they would have stayed until they had all the answers they needed the last time.
And that would have given them more time to start interviewing the McCanns and their tapas mates.

How would THAT work?

Why is the word re interviewing in the article in quotation marks? Is the newspaper not sure that that is what is happening?

"The amounts were revealed following a Freedom of Information request. It showed the bill for 2014/2015 is expected to be “broadly in line with previous years”. That will take the total to above £10million."
The Freedom of Disinformation Act only applies to the press. When a pleb member of the public asks the same question they're told to get lost.

I see most of the top rated comments on the above article are the ones written by people who are being critical of the McCanns and most of the worst rated comments are from the people who are sticking up for them.PeterMac wrote:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2790678/cost-madeleine-mccann-search-tops-10m-new-drive-answers-means-police-bill-double-initial-5m-estimate.html#comments
