The UK government is to call a halt to millions being spent on the Maddie McCann investigation

Who told him?

The investigation has drawn a blank

Who told him?

despite a series of high profile announcements of imminent breakthroughs and extensive search around the Praia da Luz resort where the four year old went missing in 2007.

The UK government has directly financed the investigation from the Prime Minister's office but now it is under pressure to put the resources into the historic claims of a child sex abuse ring operating out of Westminster

Who told him?

which currently is under resourced and only has seven full time investigators from the Metropolitan  Police on the case.

The public pressure on the explosive allegations that members of previous UK governments were involved in child sex rings and that their abuse was kept secret and investigations thwarted because of political connections has become the new priority,

'It is no longer sustainable for the open cheque book to be kept only for the Maddie investigation, not when there are many more victims and even murder inquiries wrapped up in the new scandal which needs a great deal of work', a Met Police insider

The Maddie investigators had put a huge amount of diplomatic pressure on the Portuguese Police to allow new searches and access to the resort on the promise of fresh results, but having come up empty handed they understand that their time and resources on the case is coming to an end.

The officers came to Praia da Luz with five separate theories

Who told him? (Were these 5: Smelly bin-man, Burglars 1, 2 and 3, and 'Childless Couple'?)

and up to 10 suspects

What, 5 more? Who told him?

and they have left the scene none the wiser.

Local pressure from the businesses and tourist chief means that the Metropolitan Police will not be allowed to conduct more high profile searches because of the damage it has done to the local tourism interests.

Who told him?

'This was their last throw of the dice and it has now failed leaving the team with nowhere to go', a Met insider

The same 'Met insider'?  NO DOUBT AUTHORISED TO SPEAK TO McINTYRE AT THE VERY HIGHEST LEVEL.

At least the printed article was written in English. The online article has a totally different 'feel' to it - the sentence structure is dreadful and the writer sprinkles commas around as though they were seasoning. The two articles were most definitely NOT written by the same person. So it does beg the question as to WHO wrote it, and WHY? It will be interesting to see if any other MSM outlets pick up the story or whether it's a planted spin that fails to take root.

Why is it they are investigating EVERY POSSIBLE THEORY apart from the parents faking the abduction? Surely they should investigate this, if only to rule it out.

Oh and the blood traces are explained by Gerry's massive nosebleed the day before. Instead of rushing to the sink he decided to crouch behind the sofa and make the curtains messy.

By George, I think you've cracked it!

Although I think Mentally Ill Man might have tried to hide Dead Tramp Man in the wardrobe, the flowerbed and CuddleCat before finally deciding to put him behind the sofa. And then after picking it up he put the body in his freezer until a few weeks later when he saw a car boot lying open for hours on end and tried to hide the body in there. It didn't fit, so he chucked it down a well instead.

It fits! It all fits!
Ah yes, I forgot about the cadaver scent from the scenic, but you've provided a perfectly plausible explanation for that, which of course doesn't involve the parents in any way!  laughat

Not for one moment, Benion, am I suggesting that the parents could have 'faked the abduction', but even if DCI Andy Redwood suspected that, he would simply not be allowed to pursue that line of enquiry - for the simple reason that he was already given this offical remit, by those higher up the food chain than him:

"TO INVESTIGATE THE ABDUCTION AS IF IT HAD HAPPENED IN BRITAIN".

DCI Andy Redwood knew exactly what he was getting into when he accepted this poisoned chalice.

He knew exactly what he was doing when he went on 30-plus trips to Portugal.

He knew exactly what he was doing when, at vast expense to the British taxpayer, and to the fury of the residents of Praia da Luz, he ordered for his use, as the tourist season was getting under way, a Mark III Alouette helicopter, and had dozens of men deployed searching for what turned out to be no more than a couple of rabbit bones (or something like that) on a patch of waste ground in Praia da Luz.

He knew exactly what he was doing when he pretended that the two e-fits he showed to 6.7 million people on CrimeWatch were drawn up by the Smiths - they simply could not have been - and so did all his accomplices in the BBC CrimeWatch Team.

I fervently hope that he receives all the appropriate rewards he is surely due to one day for all his efforts

Thank you Tony.

All I hope is one day the political wind changes and the case is investigated properly.

But as far as I can see the parents have got away with it. I just hope they do not pin this on some patsy just to give the British public closure

Will Jim G and MWT be 'arrested' as suspected paedophiles?

As 660 people have been 'arrested' and are described by all news outlets as 'paedophiles' for 'looking at' disgusting child abuse images, through various channels, so surely it must be that JG and MWT must also be 'arrested' because, by their own admissions THEY had also been 'looking at' disgusting child abuse 'images' almost daily, according to JG when at CEOP.

OR

is it the case that only SOME people are to be 'arrested', and not 'others', who 'look at' disgusting child abuse 'images'?

JG and MWT 'looking at', child abuse 'images'.....................NOT 'ARRESTED'

Other people 'looking at', child abuse 'images'....................'ARRESTED'

I didn't know that there is a 'law' in UK that states that ONLY 'priviliged' people CAN 'look at' disgusting child abuse 'images' possibly daily, without fear of arrest or prosecution, whilst EVERYONE, outside of the 'gang' can NOT 'look at' the SAME 'images' the 'priviliged' have had access to 'seeing'?

HOW do we know that JG and MWT know about all these vile child abuse 'images'?

BECAUSE, BY THEIR OWN ADMISSIONS, THEY HAD VIEWED AND SEEN THEM, FOR THEMSELVES, AND HAVE TOLD US!

JG and MWT are NOT part of ANY law enforcement agencies, yet admit, openly, that they have VIEWED disgusting child abuse 'images' and, as such, they have no legal RIGHT to be 'viewing' abuse 'images'. They are subject to the same laws as anyone else in this country and subject to the same consequences of their 'actions' as anyone else that breaks the law. By admitting they have 'viewed' abuse 'images', which they then proceed to tell us all about, they ARE breaking the law, according to the Police.

SO WHY HAVEN'T THEY BEEN INCLUDED AND ARRESTED, IN THIS LATEST POLICE OPERATION, TO ARREST 'PAEDOPHILES'?

Or is it 'allowed' that self appointed 'experts' CAN 'look at' child abuse 'images' with impunity?

They both HAVE to be 'arrested' too, don't they?

If not, WHY not?

Is DCI Redwood a Roman Catholic, like the McCanns?

If so, may I suggest a very special, unique honour for the favoured few, a Papal Knighthood!

As in, mentioning no names:

Sir Jimmy Saville

and

Rupert Murdoch

Exactly!

Usually, no matter how bonkers the headline/tagline of a McCann story is, I may read it in case hidden nuggets of information are contained within it. I confess I don't extend that to articles written by Donal McIntyre. The moment I see his name, I stop reading!

Oh wait...and mentally ill man took white van mans van and put maddy and the pedo gypsies in it...then drove off to the hellish lair. I think petermac and nglfi have cracked the case. Any scenario is acceptable as long as it doesnt:
A. Involve mccanns
B. Involve any evidence
C.Involve any.tapas cohorts
D. Involve the truth

That is my opinion. Way to go!!!!
Btw..who cares if Maddy is found as long as TM's and their precious fund is protected at all costs seems to be the way this investigation is being treated.Sad

Ffs. Are SY at any point going to look at the glaring discrepancies in the known participants of May 3rd 2007???? Instead of chasing various burglar types who apparently, instead of cash & passports, decided to leave valuables untouched, shimmy past cots & carry off a 3yr old ??? Farcical. Irrelevant also given findings of Eddie & Keela :/

You will note that after 3 years of work, by 38 detectives, working full-time, on a single case:

1. Eddie and Keela have never once been mentioned by SY or any of the media (in fact GM's bizarre outburst at the trial was the very first reference to them!)

2. The Paynes no longer even figure in the official reconstruction

3. The McCanns (latterly "Kate and Gerry")are being kept fully updated by SY at every stage

4. There is no indication that ANY of the T9 have been approached to explain anything, far less been questioned as suspects

It seems not unreasonable to assume that if they haven't done it in 3 years, they won't start now. There is pressure on manpower, pressure on the £10m no-results budget, and AR's retirement date looming large.

Unless you believe in miracles or fairy-tale endings, I fear we are simply awaiting the fat lady's first song (no offence Big Phil)

Imagine:

PJ 'shelving' (not CLOSING) second 'investigation' files, that by law, are released into public domain.

Pj file number XXXM.

"We asked our partnership colleagues, from the MET, for the T9 and JW to be re-interviewed and take part in a reconstruction of events"

"The MET said NO, as, in their opinion, there would be no benefit to the investigation to do either of those things"

I'm a bit behind on this thread but your comment is a highly likely vision of a future PJ File number.

It's almost certain that those 'bungling cops' asked our 'highly intelligent' coppers to re-interview the main players and to set up the much needed reconstruction. And of course, they were fobbed-off.

Myself, I prefer to look much further into the future at the TV listings for 5 years, 10 years, maybe 15 years in the future.

20:00 PANORAMA. How The McCanns Duped The World.

Tonight, a 3-hour detailed analysis into how Kate and Gerry McCann managed to fool two police forces and the majority of the public into believing that their daughter Madeleine had been abducted, while all the time they were living a lie.
We also have an exclusive live interview with the new Portuguese Prime Minister and ex-cop Goncalo Amaral. He describes how a Madeleine McCann-supporting website in England unearthed the two vital pieces of information which trapped the McCanns and their Tapas friends, and led to their trial and conviction of covering-up the child's death and perverting the course of justice.

With a couple of side orders of chargrilled sea bass, and suckling pig !

Method
Take three children. Place them in a dark room, shut the door, but don't lock it, and forget about them for the rest of the evening.
THEN -
Before you start cooking, get everything prepared. Trim each sea bass fillet so they are both the same shape, then score the skin, cutting into the flesh slightly, 5 or 6 times at about 1cm intervals.
Segment the orange – Cut away each segment, then squeeze out the juice from the rest of the orange into a bowl. Cut the broccoli into medium-size florets.
To make the warm broccoli salad, cook the florets in a pan of boiling salted water for 1 min until just cooked. While the broccoli is cooking, put a frying pan on to heat. As soon as the broccoli is cooked, drain it, then tip straight into the hot frying pan to ‘scorch’ out all the moisture.
Turn off the heat, then scatter the orange segments over the broccoli. Toss for a few moments just to heat through, then tip into a bowl and dress with the orange juice and 2 tbsp olive oil. Season with pepper and a small sprinkling of sea salt, then set aside.
Wipe out the pan. Season the fish with a little salt and pepper just before cooking. Heat the frying pan until very hot, then add 2 tbsp oil. Lay the fish fillets in the pan, skin-side down. As soon as it goes in, press each fillet down with your fingers or a fish slice to stop it from curling up.
Reduce the heat to medium, then leave the fish to cook for 3-4 mins, undisturbed, until you can see that the flesh has cooked two-thirds of the way up and the skin is crisp and brown.
Flip the fillets over, then fry on the flesh side for about 2 mins until just done, basting the skin with the oil in the pan as it cooks. Leave to rest on a warm plate, skin-side up, and baste with the hot oil and juices from the pan.
Pour 2 tbsp olive oil into the pan and place it back on a high heat. Scatter in the capers and anchovies, then cook until they start to crisp. Grate over the lemon zest and squeeze in the juice of ½ the lemon. If there isn’t enough juices in the pan to drizzle over both plates, add a splash more oil. You are now ready to plate up.
Serve with a New Zealand Sauvignon.
